SELECTING A WEATHER ESTIMATION ALGORITHM AND PROVIDING A WEATHER ESTIMATE
Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer program products are provided for selecting a weather estimation algorithm and providing a weather estimate based thereon. In an example embodiment a method is provided that comprises receiving request location information by a processor, identifying one or more weather stations, and determining a distance from at least one of the one or more weather stations to a physical location indicated by the request location information. Based at least in part on the at least one determined distance, a weather estimation algorithm is selected. A weather estimation is determined for the physical location indicated by the request location information based at least on the selected weather estimation algorithm.
SYSTEMS FOR GENERATING PERSONALIZED AND/OR LOCAL WEATHER FORECASTS
Systems for weather sensing and forecasting, and associated devices and methods, are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a system for predicting a subject's perception of weather conditions is provided. The system can generate an individual profile for the subject, the individual profile including health information of the subject. The system can receive weather data including a first weather condition for a target location. The system can compare the individual profile to a plurality of different user profiles to identify one or more similar user profiles. Each similar user profile can (1) be associated with a user having similar health information as the subject, and (2) include weather perception data indicating how the user perceived a set of second weather conditions. Based on the weather data and the similar user profile(s), the system can generate a prediction of the how the subject will perceive the first weather condition.
Determining micro-climates based on weather-related sensor data from mobile devices
Certain example implementations of the disclosed technology can include techniques and apparatuses for determining micro-climates based on weather-related sensor data from mobile devices. In some embodiments, current and projected micro-climates can be determined for multiple micro-locations. With micro-climate information, a user may better plan his or her day, including what to wear, which path to walk to work, and what activities to plan.
REQUESTING WEATHER DATA BASED ON PRE-SELECTED EVENTS
A ground weather center may transmit information requests that carry at least one meteorological specific triggering command. An airborne system may translate the triggering command into detectable meteorological conditions and may arm the trigger(s) for specific weather sensors accordingly and downlink information upon the airborne system detects the triggering conditions. By using such a triggering command, the airborne system may be able transmit the same amount of valuable information with less bandwidth by reducing the number of redundant downlinked packets.
Microclimate wind forecasting
A wind forecasting system configured to generate forecasted wind conditions for a time interval based on wind data derived from flight log data collected from a plurality of aerial vehicles operating in a first area. The forecasted wind conditions can be used by an aerial route management system to generate a flight plan for an aerial vehicle from a start location to an end location in the first area during the time interval.
ELECTRONIC CADDIE-TYPE GOLF ASSISTANCE SYSTEM BASED ON WEATHER INFORMATION CALCULATED BY INPUTTING REAL-TIME WEATHER MEASUREMENTS INTO HIGH-PRECISION WEATHER MODELING
The present invention relates to an electronic caddie-type golf assistance system and, more particularly, to an electronic caddie-type golf assistance system based on weather information calculated by inputting weather measurements into high-precision weather modeling. The golf assistance system according to the present invention comprises: a weather information acquisition device for acquiring weather information of a golf course; a wind information restoration device which models the weather information acquired by the weather information acquisition device to restore wind information; and an electronic caddie device for providing caddie information on the basis of the restored wind information. The golf assistance system according to the present invention may improve golfing performance by providing local-scale 3D wind information of a golf course.
System, server and method for information provision
Disclosed are a system, a server, and a method for information provision. A method for information provision includes receiving, from a terminal device of a vehicle, sensing information and location information detected by the terminal device of the vehicle, generating present environment condition information by regions by using the received sensing information and location information, and based on a service request being received from the terminal device of the vehicle, transmitting the environment condition information to the terminal device of the vehicle. Accordingly, a server may provide, on a real-time basis, environment condition information related to weather using sensing information detected by a terminal device of a vehicle.
Intelligent Weather Data Service
The technology relates to an intelligent weather data service for providing optimized weather forecast data using real time weather observation data in response to weather forecast requests. A weather data system may include a scorer job configured to obtain weather observation data and weather forecast data from a plurality of weather data sources and to generate a plurality of error scores for the weather forecast data over a predetermined time period, each of the plurality of error scores corresponding to one of the plurality of weather data sources and indicating, for a cell on a grid map, an amount or a probability of error in the weather forecast data by a weather data source in relation to the weather observation data; an observations index configured to index the weather observation data; a data store configured to store the plurality of error scores; and a fusion layer configured to receive and respond to a weather data request using the plurality of error scores.
SYSTEM FOR SENSOR ENABLED REPORTING AND NOTIFICATION IN A DISTRIBUTED NETWORK
A sensor based system for capturing localized weather data and a server system for communicating with a plurality of reporting and recipient mobile communication devices. The communication devices are enabled to capture additional weather information to supplement the sensor based system.
POSITIONING FOR WEATHER SENSING DEVICES
In various embodiments, information regarding weather sensing devices in an observation network can be collected. Value differences such as root-mean-square errors (RMSEs) can then be calculated for values of a weather variable based on the collected information. A relationship between the value differences and distances among the weather sensing devices can be determined. A pre-determined value difference for the weather variable such as a pre-determined RMSE for the weather variable can be obtained. A distance for positioning two weather sensing devices in the observation network can be determined based on the relationship and the pre-determined value difference. One or more instructions may be issued based on the determined distance for a configuration of the observation network.
