Diffusers in wearable devices
Eyewear including an optical element, a controller, a support structure configured to support the optical element and the controller, light sources coupled to the controller and supported by the support structure, and a diffuser positioned adjacent to the light sources and supported by the support structure, the diffuser including microstructures that diffuse light emitted by the light sources in a radial anisotropic diffusion pattern or a prism-like diffusion pattern.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDUCED-SPECKLE LASER LINE GENERATION
An illumination apparatus for reducing speckle effect in light reflected off an illumination target includes a laser; a linear diffuser positioned in an optical path between an illumination target and the laser to diffuse collimated laser light in a planar fan of diffused light that spreads in one dimension across at least a portion of the illumination target; and a beam deflector to direct the collimated laser light incident on the beam deflector to sweep across different locations on the linear diffuser within an exposure time for illumination of the illumination target by the diffused light. The different locations span a distance across the linear diffuser that provides sufficient uncorrelated speckle patterns, at an image sensor, in light reflected from an intersection of the planar fan of light with the illumination target to add incoherently when imaged by the image sensor within the exposure time.
OPTICAL SHEET FORMING DEVICE AND OPTICAL SHEET FORMING METHOD
An extruding unit, a forming roll unit and a thick portion forming mechanism are provided. The extruding unit has an ejecting slit which ejects sheet-shaped molten resin. The ejecting slit includes a standard gap portion and an enlarged gap portion. The standard gap portion is formed as a gap having a constant size. The enlarged gap portion is formed as a gap larger than the standard gap portion in a position corresponding to a thick portion. The thick portion forming mechanism forms one or several thick portions which are thicker than other portion, in the sheet-shaped molten resin continuously in the extrusion direction.

Disclosed is a blue to white light conversion device, comprising: a light conversion subassembly comprising at least one light conversion layer, sandwiched between two light transmitting members, wherein the light conversion layer comprises a light conversion material comprising phosphors and/or quantum dots; at least one light diffusing subassembly neighboring the light conversion subassembly; and a top frame and a bottom frame surrounding the light diffusing subassembly and light conversion subassembly, respectively.
LIGHT REDIRECTING FILM
A light redirecting film includes a first layer disposed on a second layer with structured major surfaces of the first and second layers facing each other. An optically reflective layer or a metal layer is disposed between the first and second layers. The first layer can be a hot melt adhesive layer and the second layer can be a polymeric layer. The first and second layers can be unitary layers. The first layer can be a first polymeric layer having a softening temperature T1 and the second layer can be a second polymeric layer having a softening temperature T2 greater than T1. Heating and/or applying pressure to the film changes an optical characteristic of the film by less than about 5%.
Detection line broadening
A touch sensing apparatus is disclosed comprising a panel that defines a touch surface, a plurality of emitters and detectors arranged along a perimeter of the light transmissive panel, and a light directing arrangement arranged adjacent the perimeter. The emitters are arranged to emit a respective beam of emitted light and the light directing arrangement is arranged to direct the light along a light path from the emitters to the touch surface. A diffusive light scattering element is arranged in the light path.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE
The disclosure provides an electronic device including a housing, a light-emitting element and a light diffusion structure. The housing includes a first light-transmitting hole and a second light-transmitting hole. The light-emitting element is disposed in the housing, and is aligned with the first light-transmitting hole. The light diffusion structure includes a first light diffusion layer and a second light diffusion layer. The first light diffusion layer is disposed between the housing and the light-emitting element, and comprises a first semi-transparent region and a first light-shielding region. The first semi-transparent region corresponds to the first light-transmitting hole, and the first light-shielding region surrounds the first semi-transparent region. The second light diffusion layer is disposed between the housing and the light-emitting element, and comprises a second semi-transparent region and a second light-shielding region. The second semi-transparent region corresponds to the second light-transmitting hole. The second light-shielding region surrounds the second semi-transparent region.
Laser device, projection type image display device and sensing device
Provided is a laser device, comprising a laser light source, a collimating lens that collimates the light output from the laser light source, and a diffuser plate that diffuses the light from the laser light source before collimating the light.
