The illumination module (1) further includes a light diffuser (6) optically coupled to the light outlet region of the housing , which diffuser includes a first light outlet region (7), via which light can be decoupled for direct illumination or highlighting of the region of the vehicle component and which includes a second light outlet region (8), which is spatially separated from the first light outlet region (7) via which signal light can be decoupled.
LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
A light emitting device includes a light source, a light guide member, and a defining member. The light source is configured to emit light. The light guide member is configured to guide the light and having a light incident end surface on which the light is to be incident. The defining member is arranged between the light source and the light guide member to define a distance between the light source and the light incident end surface of the light guide member. The defining member includes a light passage member configured to allow the light to pass between the light source and the light incident end surface, and a light transmission member configured to transmit the light between the light passage member and the light incident end surface. The light source is spaced apart from the light transmission member.
Connector assembly
A connector assembly includes a receptacle connector, a shielding cage and a partitioning element. The shielding cage has a receiving cavity. The partitioning element is provided to the receiving cavity and partitions the receiving cavity into a first module passageway and a second module passageway, the partitioning element includes a compartment frame and a grounding gasket assembled to a front end of the compartment frame, the compartment frame has a first partitioning wall and a second partitioning wall which respectively correspond to the first module passageway and the second module passageway, the grounding gasket integrally has a front plate, a first panel and a second panel, the first panel and the second panel together clamp the first partitioning wall and the second partitioning wall, the first panel and the second panel and the front plate are integrally connected by bulging portions at certain corners.
WEARABLE MONITORING DEVICE
A wearable monitoring device includes a band configured to at least partially encircle a portion of the body of a subject and at least one optical emitter and at least one optical detector attached to the band. The band includes a generally cylindrical outer body portion and a generally cylindrical inner body portion secured together in concentric relationship. The inner body portion includes light transmissive material and has outer and inner surfaces. A layer of cladding material is near the inner body portion inner surface, and a plurality of windows are formed in the cladding material that each serve as a light-guiding interface to the body of the subject. The plurality of windows are circumferentially spaced apart from each other.
RECORDING APPARATUS AND MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS
In a printer, a display unit includes, in a housing, a light source, and a first light emitting portion having a first light emitting surface which emits light toward the outside of the housing with light emitted from the light source and a first light guiding portion which guides the light emitted from the light source to the first light emitting surface. Further, the display unit includes, in an opening/closing cover, a second light emitting portion having a second light emitting surface which emits light toward the outside of the housing with the light emitted from the first light emitting surface and a second light guiding portion which guides the light emitted from the first light emitting surface to the second light emitting surface.
Sensing the screen positions in a dual screen phone
A handheld communication device includes first and second screens, a hinge to rotate the first and second screens between open and closed positions, and a position sensor to determine the relative position of the first and second screens. The position sensor can be a Hall-Effect sensor.
Transflective, PCM-based display device
The invention is notably directed to a transflective display device. The device comprises a set of pixels, wherein each of the pixels comprises a portion of bi-stable, phase change material, hereafter a PCM portion, having at least two reversibly switchable states, in which it has two different values of refractive index and/or optical absorption. The device further comprises one or more spacers, optically transmissive, and extending under PCM portions of the set of pixels. One or more reflectors extend under the one or more spacers. An energization structure is in thermal or electrical communication with the PCM portions, via the one or more spacers. Moreover, a display controller is configured to selectively energize, via the energization structure, PCM portions of the pixels, so as to reversibly switch a state of a PCM portion of any of the pixels from one of its reversibly switchable states to the other. A backlight unit is furthermore configured, in the device, to allow illumination of the PCM portions through the one or more spacers. The backlight unit is controlled by a backlight unit controller, which is configured for modulating one or more physical properties of light emitted from the backlight unit. The invention is further directed to related devices and methods of operation.

A computing engine having a generally triangular shape is described having internal components that include a graphics processing unit (GPU) board, a central processing unit (CPU) board, an input/output (I/O) interface board, an interconnect board, and a power supply unit (PSU).
ILLUMINATED AND ISOLATED ELECTROSURGICAL APPARATUS
Unintended current flow or plasma discharge has been observed in known illuminated electrosurgical devices having a metallic tubular heat sink surrounding a conductive electrode and an illumination element, and having a distal outer edge that abuts against the light emitting element. An insulating, shielding or other isolating element that prevents or discourages unintended plasma formation between the distal outer edge and nearby patient tissue can reduce the potential for tissue damage to a patient or injury to a surgeon.
