PROTECTIVE SEAL
A protective seal taking the form of a hollow body includes a first wall, a second wall opposite the first wall, and a section between the first wall and the second wall. The first wall has an opening and the second wall has at least one slot. The protective seal is configured so as to pass, when a force is exerted on the second wall, in a direction perpendicular to the second wall, from a rest position to a stressed position. In the rest position, at least one slot is closed. In a stressed position, at least one slot is deformed, freeing up an opening in the second wall.
VIBRATION DEVICE AND VIBRATION CONTROL METHOD
A vibration device includes a light-transmissive body, and a vibrator to vibrate the light-transmissive body at a vibration acceleration of equal to or more than about 1.5×10.sup.5 m/s.sup.2 and equal to or less than about 8.0×10.sup.5 m/s.sup.2.
VALIDATION OF A CAMERA CLEANING SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for testing and validation of a camera. A device may capture a first image of a target using a camera, wherein the camera is in a clean state, and wherein the target is in a line of sight of the camera. The device may apply an obstruction to a portion of a lens of the camera. The device may apply a camera cleaning system to the lens of the camera. The device may capture a post-clean image after applying the camera cleaning system. The device may determine a post-clean SSIM score based on comparing the post clean image to the first image. The device may compare the post-clean SSIM score to a validation threshold. The device may determine a validation state of the camera cleaning system based on the comparison.
Protection system, driver assistance system and vehicle component
Protection system for an optical sensor in a motor vehicle and for detecting an environment of the motor vehicle is provided, wherein the protection system comprises at least one cover for the optical sensor, which can be brought into a cover position in which the optical sensor is protected from environmental influences by the at least one cover. The protection system comprises a storage device for a plurality of covers, from which at least one cover can be moved into the cover position.
Vehicle speed-based compressor control
An apparatus on a vehicle comprises one or more sensors, one or more nozzles that output fluid to clean the respective one or more sensors, and a compressor that generates fluid such as compressed air. The compressor is in fluid communication with the one or more nozzles. The apparatus further comprises one or more processors, and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to determine a current velocity of the vehicle and control an operation of the compressor based on the current velocity of the vehicle.
Regenerative compressor control
An apparatus on a vehicle comprises one or more sensors, one or more nozzles that output fluid to clean the respective one or more sensors, and a compressor that generates fluid such as compressed air. The compressor is in fluid communication with the one or more nozzles. The apparatus further comprises one or more processors, and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to predict a trajectory of the vehicle and control an operation of the compressor based on the predicted trajectory of the vehicle.
Adaptive filter system for self-driving vehicle
An adaptive filter system and a method for controlling the adaptive filter system are described herein. The system can includes one or more filters to attenuate incoming light. The one or more filters can be moved by one or more actuators. The method can capture image data from an imaging device through the one or more filters. Information can be determined from the captured image data. The one or more filters can be moved to a position for capturing image data based on the information.
Vehicular camera with lens defogging feature
A vehicular camera for a vehicular vision system includes a housing having a front housing portion and a rear housing portion, with the front housing portion including a lens barrel for accommodating a lens. A heating device is disposed at an outermost lens element of the lens. The heating device includes a pair of electrically conductive elements that are routed along the lens barrel for electrical connection to circuitry at a printed circuit board. An outer end of each of the electrically conductive elements is disposed at and in contact with a heating element at and in contact with the inner surface of the outermost lens element. When powered, the heating element heats the outermost lens element to evaporate moisture or condensation thereat. The camera is configured to be disposed at an exterior portion of a vehicle so as to have a field of view exterior of the vehicle.
Ultrasound lens structure cleaner architecture and method using standing and traveling waves
A lens structure system with a lens structure and a multi-segmented transducer coupled to the lens structure. Each segment in the plurality of segments has a first conductor and a second conductor, wherein the first conductor and the second conductor are electrically coupled to the segment. The system also has circuitry for applying a voltage to selected segments in the plurality of segments with standing wave signals and traveling wave signals.
Rigid endoscope cover and endoscope unit
A cover 20 for covering a circumferential portion of an outer circumferential surface of a rigid endoscope 10 having an observation window portion 14 provided at a tip thereof includes a flexible outer cover member 22 covering the circumferential portion of the circumferential surface of the rigid endoscope 10 and a tubular member 26, provided inside the outer cover member 22, through which a cleaning fluid to be supplied from a base end of the rigid endoscope 10 to the observation window portion 14 of the rigid endoscope 10 flows inside, and the outer cover member 22 is attached to the outer circumference surface of the rigid endoscope 10 by flexing the outer cover member 22.
