Method and system for information storage

The present disclosure provides a method for information storage and a system thereof, which adapts to a data storage system. A monitoring unit is configured to detecting and monitoring operations of a storage node in the data storage system to generate corresponding one and more monitoring data. A recording processor is configured to receiving the one or the plurality of monitoring data, and rendering one or a plurality of logs according to the difference of content of the one or the plurality of monitoring data. The adjustment mechanism is performed according to the stored logs, thereby the amount of large data generated during monitoring is effectively reduced.

System and method for approximating replication completion time

One embodiment provides a computer implemented method of estimating replication completion time. The method includes creating a historical dataset of prior replication data; determining a set of replication parameters to consider; inputting the historical dataset and the set of replication parameters to a replication completion time estimator module; generating a replication completion time prediction based on the historical dataset and the set of replication parameters; and generating a confidence prediction corresponding to the replication completion time prediction.

Handling an input/output store instruction

An input/output store instruction is handled. A data processing system includes a system nest coupled to at least one input/output bus by an input/output bus controller. The data processing system further includes at least a data processing unit including a core, system firmware and an asynchronous core-nest interface. The data processing unit is coupled to the system nest via an aggregation buffer. The system nest is configured to asynchronously load from and/or store data to at least one external device which is coupled to the at least one input/output bus. The data processing unit is configured to complete the input/output store instruction before an execution of the input/output store instruction in the system nest is completed. The asynchronous core-nest interface includes an input/output status array with multiple input/output status buffers. The system firmware includes a retry buffer and the core includes an analysis and retry logic.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STORAGE MODELING AND COSTING

The present invention provides systems and methods for data storage. A hierarchical storage management architecture is presented to facilitate data management. The disclosed system provides methods for evaluating the state of stored data relative to enterprise needs by using weighted parameters that may be user defined. Also disclosed are systems and methods evaluating costing and risk management associated with stored data.

One example of a system includes a plurality of clients, a master chunk coordinator, and a plurality of chunk servers. Each client submits requests to access chunks of objects. The master chunk coordinator maintains chunk information for each object. Each chunk server includes a chunk monitor to monitor client requests, maintain chunk statistics for each chunk based on the monitoring, and transmit the chunk statistics for each chunk to the master chunk coordinator. The master chunk coordinator instructs the chunk servers to re-chunk objects, replicate chunks, migrate chunks, and resize chunks based on the chunk statistics to meet specified parameters.

MEMORY RESOURCE OPTIMIZATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

Embodiments of the present invention provide a memory resource optimization method and apparatus, relate to the computer field, solve a problem that existing multi-level memory resources affect each other, and optimize an existing single partitioning mechanism. A specific solution is: obtaining performance data of each program in a working set by using a page coloring technology, obtaining a category of each program in light of a memory access frequency, selecting, according to the category of each program, a page coloring-based partitioning policy corresponding to the working set, and writing the page coloring-based partitioning policy to an operating system kernel, to complete corresponding page coloring-based partitioning processing. The present invention is used to eliminate or reduce mutual interference of processes or threads on a memory resource in light of a feature of the working set, thereby improving overall performance of a computer.

DYNAMICALLY CHANGING INPUT DATA STREAMS PROCESSED BY DATA STREAM LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
20180011695 · 2018-01-11 ·

An instrumentation analysis system processes data streams by executing instructions specified using a data stream language program. The data stream language allows users to specify a search condition using a find block for identifying the set of data streams processed by the data stream language program. The set of identified data streams may change dynamically. The data stream language allows users to group data streams into sets of data streams based on distinct values of one or more metadata attributes associated with the input data streams. The data stream language allows users to specify a threshold block for determining whether data values of input data streams are outside boundaries specified using low/high thresholds. The elements of the set of data streams input to the threshold block can dynamically change. The low/high threshold values can be specified as data streams and can dynamically change.

Optimized client-side deduplication

One example method includes optimizing client-side deduplication. When backing up a client, an overwrite ratio is determined based on a size of actual changes made to a volume and a size indicated by changes in a change log. Client-side deduplication is enabled or disabled based on a value of the overwrite ratio.

APPLICATION UPDATES

Described herein are example systems and computer-implemented methods for monitoring changes to an application. For example, information regarding a change made to an aspect of an application may be received by a processor. It, may be determined if a similarity of the change to a cluster of changes related to the aspect is within a change threshold. Further, the change may be associated with the cluster of changes when the similarity of the change is within the change threshold. It may be further determined if a metric based on a number of changes associated with the cluster of changes is within a cluster range. When the metric within the cluster range, a prototype change may be extracted from the cluster of changes. The application may be updated based on the prototype change when the metric is within the cluster range.

Gateway system with multiple modes of operation in a fleet management system

A method and a gateway system of a mobile asset are described. A voltage produced by a power system of the mobile asset is monitored by a gateway system. In response to determining that a first fluctuation occurs in the voltage produced by the power system of the mobile asset over a first interval of time, the gateway system operates in a first mode. In response to determining that a value of the voltage produced by the power system of the mobile asset is less than a voltage threshold, the gateway system automatically transitions to operating in a second mode, which is different from the first mode and causes the gateway system to consume less power than when it is operating in the first mode.
