11580318 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A tag reading apparatus comprises a passage that is configured to receive an RFID-tagged article that is to be registered in a transaction. The passage has an inlet end and an outlet end separated from each other in a first direction and width in a second direction. An antenna is in the passage at a position between the inlet and outlet ends in the first direction. An RFID reader is provided to read an RFID tag according to a response wave from the RFID tag received via the antenna. A controller is configured to identify the RFID-tagged article as being in the transaction according to a change in the response wave (such as a phase difference or intensity) corresponding to a movement of the RFID-tagged article from the inlet end to the outlet end.

Wireless mobile work machine component detection and control system

Electronic notification apparatus

An electronic notification apparatus is disclosed. The electronic notification apparatus may include an image capture device which can scan a machine readable code on a physical object. A communication may thereafter be initiated to complete the transfer of the physical object to a user.

Interacting RFID tags

An active radio frequency identification (“RFID”) tag receives an RFID interrogation signal via a first antenna. An integrated frequency reference in the RFID chip recovers the clock from the RFID interrogation and generates a reference clock for transmitting data responsive to the RFID interrogation. The integrated frequency reference generates the reference clock at the same frequency as the RFID interrogation for transmitting the response via the first antenna. The integrated frequency reference generates the reference clock at a different frequency for transmitting the response using a Bluetooth beacon message or a WiFi message via a second antenna. A mobile computing device can interrogate the RFID tag via an NFC interface and receive a response via a Bluetooth beacon messages or WiFi message received via a Bluetooth or wireless interface of the mobile computing device.

Agile time-continuous memory operation for a radio frequency identification transponder

A radio frequency identification (RFID) transponder includes a current control module for controlling a current consumption of a memory based on an amount of available power, and a control logic for controlling a memory operation in response to the control of the current consumption by the current control module. The RFID transponder further includes a power detector that is configured to continuously monitor and detect the amount of available power and output a power-dependent control signal. The power-dependent control signal is used by the RFID transponder to control the current consumption of the memory in dependence on the available power.

Tracking RFID groups with spatio-temporal proximity

Systems and methods for determining radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag proximity groups are provided. The method includes receiving RFID tag readings from multiple RFID tags. The method includes determining signal strengths of the RFID tag readings. The method includes determining pairs of RFID tags based on the RFID tag readings. The method also includes implementing a twin recurrent neural network (RNN) to determine proximity groups of RFID tags based on distance similarity over time between each of the pairs of the RFID tags.

Passive wide-area three-dimensional imaging

Radar, lidar, and other active 3D imaging techniques require large, heavy sensors that consume lots of power. Passive 3D imaging techniques based on feature matching are computationally expensive and limited by the quality of the feature matching. Fortunately, there is a robust, computationally inexpensive way to generate 3D images from full-motion video acquired from a platform that moves relative to the scene. The full-motion video frames are registered to each other and mapped to the scene coordinates using data about the trajectory of the platform with respect to the scene. The time derivative of the registered frames equals the product of the height map of the scene, the projected angular velocity of the platform, and the spatial gradient of the registered frames. This relationship can be solved in (near) real time to produce the height map of the scene from the full-motion video and the trajectory.

Systems and Methods for Enhancing Trainable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Performance

Systems and methods for enhancing trainable optical character recognition (OCR) performance are disclosed herein. An example method includes receiving, at an application executing on a user computing device communicatively coupled to a machine vision camera, an image captured by the machine vision camera, the image including an indicia encoding a payload and a character string. The example method also includes identifying the indicia and the character string; decoding the indicia to determine the payload; and applying an optical character recognition (OCR) algorithm to the image to interpret the character string and identify an unrecognized character within the character string. The example method also includes comparing the payload to the character string to validate the unrecognized character as corresponding to a known character included within the payload; and responsive to validating the unrecognized character, adding the unrecognized character to a font library referenced by the OCR algorithm.

A method for identifying an object or product for purchase includes scanning, by the user, an example object for a code or marking; reading the code or marking; communicating with a database to index the code or marking with information about the example object, wherein the information includes contact information or a contact link for a manufacturer or supplier of the example object; and receiving the information and providing the information to the user. A method for purchasing a product based on the information can include receiving an order for a product using the contact information or contact link for the manufacturer or supplier; receiving payment for the order; and delivering a portion of the payment to an entity that displayed the example object from which the code or marking was scanned.

Operations system for combining independent product monitoring systems to automatically manage product inventory and product pricing and automate store processes

In some implementations, a device may receive data identifying products and encoded data identifying smart tags of the products. The device may map the data and the encoded data to generate encoded product data. The device may receive encoded data provided by smart tags of products received by a store. The device may receive images of the products. The device may compare the encoded data and the encoded product data to identify a set of the products received by the store. The device may correlate the images with the set of the products. The device may process the correlated data to identify locations of the set of the products in the store. The device may generate an instruction to relocate a product to a new location and may provide the instruction to a device, associated with the store, to cause the product to be relocated to the new location.
