Virtual account use in an online marketplace is described. Listings published to a multitude of client devices by the online marketplace include a first listing for a first item and a second listing for a second item. The first item is listed by a first user account and the second item is listed by a second user account. In connection with a third user account purchasing the first item, the online marketplace provides a first monetary compensation to the first user account from the third user account by updating a balance of a virtual account of the first user account to include the first monetary compensation. In connection with the first user account purchasing the second item via the second listing, the online marketplace provides at least a portion of the balance to the second user account directly from the virtual account as second monetary compensation.

The processor then notifies a customer of settlement method information indicating the first settlement method cannot be executed at the settlement processing or that another settlement method, other than the first settlement method, can be executed at the settlement apparatus instead of the first settlement method.

Systems and methods are provided for configuring a user device to provide a preferred payment method for payments. When a user carries their device into a store, the device may receive information from a beacon at the store that informs the device that the user is at the store. The user device may the use the information to determine which of several payment methods will provide a maximum benefit to the user if used for a payment at that store. The benefits to the user may include points, store rewards, miles, cash back rewards or other rewards associated with a particular payment method that, at a particular time or location provide more benefit to the user than other payment methods. The user device may be configured to provide the preferred payment method prior to a communication between the user device and a point of sale device of the store.

A consumer may initiate a transaction using a transaction account. The transaction account issuer may transmit a notification to the consumer that the transaction has been authorized. The consumer may select requestees with whom to split the transaction. The transaction account issuer may transmit notifications to requestees to request payment from the requestees. The transaction account issuer may transfer the payment from a transaction account of the requestee to the consumer's transaction account.

A consumer having a device capable of receiving the wireless transmission may receive the accepted forms of payment and have them displayed on a screen of the device. The device may also send the accepted forms of payment to a remote server that has issued the consumer a programmable credit card such that the remote server can program the credit card based on the forms of payment accepted by the merchant.

If the balance is not sufficient, determining whether there are at least two electronic cash applications, a sum of whose balances are greater than or equal to the payment amount. If the balances are sufficient, selecting a group of electronic cash applications, a sum of whose balances are greater than or equal to the payment amount, performing deduction from a balance of each selected electronic cash application until a sum of the deduction is equal to the payment amount; and sending account number and corresponding deduction data of each of the selected electronic cash applications and transaction identifications to the payee terminal.

The present disclosure describes transaction-enabling systems and methods. A system can include a controller and a fleet of machines, each having at least one of a compute task requirement, a networking task requirement, and an energy consumption task requirement. The controller may include a resource requirement circuit to determine an amount of a resource for each of the machines to service the task requirement for each machine, a forward resource market circuit to access a forward resource market, and a resource distribution circuit to execute an aggregated transaction of the resource on the forward resource market.
