Personal information database modification and monitoring

A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability. Once a user gives explicit confirmation, the engine modifies the database entry.

PORTFOLIO OPTIMIZATION SYSTEM THAT SIMULTANIOUSLY SUPPORTS MULTIPLE TAX-EXEMPT, TAX-DEFERRED AND TAXABLE ACCOUNTS

The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that optimizes an investment portfolio across multiple investment accounts with differing tax treatments. During operation, the system receives a call to optimize the portfolio for an investor. First, the system solves for a target asset allocation that specifies a desired allocation for investments in each account type in the portfolio across different asset classes or factor exposures. Next, the system performs a portfolio optimization operation to determine the optimal allocations across different investment options for all accounts in the portfolio with the objectives of maximizing expected after-tax alpha for the portfolio, minimizing a tracking error between the portfolio and the target asset allocation, minimizing taxes on realized capital gains, both now and in the future (for taxable accounts), and minimizing trade costs. Finally, the system generates a set of trading instructions to produce the optimal allocation from a current allocation for the portfolio.

IDENTIFICATION OF GROUPING CRITERIA FOR BULK TRIP REVIEW IN GETTING TAX DEDUCTIONS

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for intelligent grouping of travel data for review through a user interface. In one example, a method for providing grouped travel data to a user interface of an application includes receiving travel data from an application running on a remote device; generating one or more travel data-based features from the travel data thereby creating featurized travel data; applying a pattern mining technique to the featurized travel data to detect a plurality of patterns in the featurized travel data; for each trip record in the featurized travel data: determining a plurality of trip record groups in which the trip record falls based on the plurality of patterns; and adding the trip record to a trip record group of the plurality of trip record groups according to a prioritization scheme; and transmitting the trip record group to the application running on the remote device.

System and method for displaying trading data

A system and method are provided for presenting trading information. One example method includes displaying a plurality of effective trade indicators corresponding to price levels at which effective trades have been initiated, and displaying trading information corresponding to each effective trade. The effective trades can be determined based on user-configured trade definitions. The trading information can include a traded quantity and profit/loss corresponding to each effective trade. In addition to the trading information, current market information could be displayed as well in relation to the plurality of effective trades.

Forward market renewable energy credit prediction from human behavioral data

Systems and methods for predicting forward market pricing for renewable energy credit based on human behavioral data are disclosed. An example transaction-enabling system may include a forward market circuit to access a forward energy credit market and a market forecasting circuit to automatically generate a forecast for a forward market price of an energy credit in the forward energy credit market where the forecast is based at least in part on a human behavior information collected from at least one human behavioral data source. The example system may further include wherein the energy credit includes a renewable energy credit associated with a renewable energy system, and a smart contract circuit to perform at least one of selling the renewable energy credit or purchasing the renewable energy credit on the forward energy credit market in response to the forecasted forward market price of the energy credit.
