Users may also be encouraged to participate in athletic challenges or competitions against other users or groups of users. In addition, athletic movement data for multiple persons can be collected at a central location, and subsequently displayed to a user at a desired remote location, so that the user can compare his or her athletic activities to others.
Selecting content for high velocity users
Disclosed are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media to select content to present to a user are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes determining a content consumption rate of the user, and selectively presenting content to the user based on the content consumption rate. The content consumption rate may be determined based on a number of media content presented to the user over a period of time. If the number is above a threshold, a first type of content may be presented, while if the number is below (or equal) to the threshold, a second type of content, or in some aspects, no content, may be presented. After the selective presentation, additional content may be presented regardless of the content consumption rate.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes generating a virtual venue for the virtual reality space, wherein the generating the virtual venue including replicating an architecture of a venue associated with the event and generating a plurality of virtual stores for the virtual venue, wherein each virtual store is associated with each participant of the plurality of participants, accessing a plurality of cameras and a plurality of microphones associated with the event, generating the virtual reality space based on the plurality of participants, the virtual venue, the plurality of microphones, and the plurality of cameras, generating a plurality of images for each participant of the plurality of participants according to each profile for each participant of the plurality of participants to participate in the event, and presenting the virtual reality space to user equipment in a virtual reality format. The present application discloses an information processing method. The method includes: acquiring a resource package parameter determined by a sender client; invoking an interface with a second server, and acquiring a current conversion rate that is between the first-type resource and a second-type resource and is issued by the second server; calculating a quantity of second-type resources equal in value to the first quantity of first-type resources according to the conversion rate, and using the quantity as a second quantity; deducting the second quantity of second-type resources from a second-type resource account of the sender client, and generating at least one resource package, a sum of quantities corresponding to the at least one resource package being equal to the first quantity; and distributing the at least one resource package to at least one receiver client by using the link information.

Systems and methods for automatically locating web-based social network members are provided. According to one embodiment, contact content including an associated GPS identifier and status for web-based social network members located at or near the same location automatically appears on a GPS-enabled device. A further exemplary system includes a GPS-enabled device configured to receive a GPS identifier and a status representing a location and a current state for a web-based social network member, a processing module that associates the received GPS-identifier and the received status, and a communications module that sends the associated GPS-identifier and status to a server comprising a web-based social network database. Contact content in a web-based social network database record in the web-based social network database is updated to include the associated GPS identifier and status for the web-based social network member.
Server-Side Rate-Limiting Algorithms for Piggybacking Social Updates for Mobile Devices
In one embodiment, device status information is received from a mobile device of a first user. The device status information may include: information related to power for the device, information related to network connectivity of the device, or a notification mode of the device. Outgoing messages may be identified to be sent to the first user. A value may be computed for each of the outgoing messages. The computed value may be based on an affinity score determined with respect to an originator of the message and the first user. Based on the computed value, at least one of the outgoing messages may be selected for placement into an outgoing message queue. Upon the detection of a triggering condition, the selected messages may be sent to the mobile device. The triggering condition may be based on the device status information and the respective values of the outgoing messages.

Various factors may be used to make the prediction, such as an affinity between the inviting user and the other users, the availability of the other users at the time of the event and/or the proximity of the other users to the location of the event. An inviting user receives the suggested users and selects suggested users to invite to the event or invitations may be automatically sent to the suggested users by the social networking system.

Rank the at least one media program by the number of microposts corresponding to the at least one media program. Present the at least one media program, each of the at least one media program with at least one micropost, wherein the at least one micropost comprises a link to the original social media page hosting the social media post and a video deeplink that plays a time off-set video, the time off-set video starting from the stored time offset data.
