An Electrically Operated Smoking Device Including an Optical Projection System for Identifying Smoking Articles Comprising an Indicium
The present invention relates to an aerosol-generating consumable article comprising at least one indicium containing coded information about the article arranged on a surface of said article. The coded information is implemented in at least one array of readable code elements that are readable upon illumination by an optical magnification reader system, said readable code elements having a density of at least 10 elements per square mm of said indicium. The invention is also related to an aerosol-generating device configured to receive a consumable article. The aerosol-generating device comprises an optical magnification reader system configured to provide an optically magnified image of at least a portion of said indicium on a detector and to read said coded information, to recognize the authenticity of the consumable article.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE INCLUDING A HEAT-CONDUCTING ELEMENT AND A SURFACE TREATMENT
There is provided an aerosol-generating article including a combustible heat source; an aerosol-forming substrate disposed in thermal communication with the combustible heat source; and a heat-conducting component disposed around at least a portion of the aerosol-forming substrate, the heat-conducting component including an outer surface forming at least part of an outer surface of the aerosol-generating article, wherein at least a portion of the outer surface of the heat-conducting component includes a surface coating and has an emissivity of less than about 0.6. A method of manufacturing the aerosol-generating article is also provided.
CONSUMABLE AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH LIQUID AEROSOL-FORMING SUBSTRATE, AND AN AEROSOL-GENERATING SYSTEM
The aerosol-generating article is capable of being used with an electrically-operated aerosol-generating device. The aerosol-generating article is a consumable article having an outlet end, a distal end upstream from the outlet end, and a mid-point located an equal distance between the outlet end and the distal end. The article includes a first volatile liquid substrate contained within a first frangible capsule, the frangible capsule being located between the distal end and the mid-point, and a second volatile liquid substrate contained within a second frangible capsule, the second frangible capsule being located between the distal end and the mid-point. The article also includes a liquid retention medium, at least a portion the liquid retention medium being located between the distal end and the mid-point, wherein the article is configured to allow air to be drawn through the article from the distal end to the outlet end.
Process of preparing printing solution and making patterned cigarette wrapper
A process for making patterned cigarette wrapper includes the steps of: preparing a printing solution including the steps of: mixing at least water and a starch to form a starch mixture, heating the starch mixture to a temperature of at least about 180° F. preferably for at least about 30 minutes to release amylopectin and amylose, adding propylene glycol to the starch mixture, and mixing the starch mixture and propylene glycol to form a printing solution, wherein the solution is maintained and applied at elevated temperature (120° F. to 150° F.). The process also includes providing a base web of wrapper and applying the printing solution to the wrapper in a predetermined pattern.
COATED PLUG WRAP TO ENHANCE FILTER HARDNESS
A method for enhancing hardness of a filter for a smoking article includes disposing a plug wrap about filter material; and applying a hardness-enhancing coating composition to the plug wrap after the plug wrap has been disposed about the filter material to enhance the hardness of the filter.
