The cash processor includes: a first storage unit which stores a basic function program; a second storage unit which stores an extension function program; and a control unit which executes the basic function program and the extension function program. The control unit stores, according to the reception of a processing request which instructs the execution of the cash process, downloads, from the server, an extension function program that corresponds to the cash process included in the processing request, and stores the extension function program in the second storage unit.

Implementations described and claimed herein involve systems and methods for handling an increased capacity of coins. In one implementation, an increased capacity coin hopper assembly comprises a bucket assembly, a coin hopper, and a funnel assembly. The bucket assembly has an opening through which one or more coins are receivable, and the coin hopper has a payout disc rotatable by at least one motor. The funnel assembly is disposed between the bucket assembly and the coin hopper and directs the one or more coins from the bucket assembly to the payout disc with a controlled flow.

Implementations described and claimed herein involve systems and methods for handling an increased capacity of coins. In one implementation, an increased capacity coin hopper assembly comprises a bucket assembly, a coin hopper, and a funnel assembly. The bucket assembly has an opening through which one or more coins are receivable, and the coin hopper has a payout disc rotatable by at least one motor. The funnel assembly is disposed between the bucket assembly and the coin hopper and directs the one or more coins from the bucket assembly to the payout disc with a controlled flow.

A standard sized coin roll holder is loaded with a stack of alternating coins and spacers such that a variable number of coins can be accommodated in a standard sized holder. The number of coins loaded into the holder can be configured to be one more than the number of spacers, starting with a coin, then a spacer and so on, such that a coin occupies both the first position and the last position in the stack and making a coin face visible at each end. A twenty coin holder can be loaded, for example, with 10 coins and 9 spacers or with 5 coins and 4 spacers. A compressible silicone rubber washer can also be included to account for slight variations in coin thickness, thus securing the stack within the available height inside a closed and sealed case.
