Instant personal electronic parking system and method
A personal electronic parking system and method adapted to identify, track, predict, alert, manage and collect payment, and enforce on-street and off-street parking, the system including a central cloud network adapted to generate and manage user data and parking data, a user interface adapted to show users parking information relevant to the user, a unique machine-readable code, wherein the code provides identification of a specific vehicle used by the user, one or more sensors, one or more meter devices adapted to connect with the central cloud network and the user interface, and a parking payment and enforcement portal.
System and method for implementing an exception to a parking restriction
An apparatus and method for implementing an exception to a parking restriction, the exception being a parking area defined by one or more coordinates, includes monitoring an area including the parking area; detecting a vehicle in the monitored area; determining whether the detected vehicle is positioned within the parking area; and determining whether the vehicle has permission to park in the parking area. The parking area is not marked on the road.

BRAKE CONTROL
A brake control system for a motor vehicle having wheels, service brakes for supplying a service braking effort to a plurality of the wheels, sensing means for detecting standstill of the vehicle, and a parking brake engageable to supply a park braking effort to a subset of the plurality of wheels. The system comprises brake actuation means for actuating the service brakes to supply the service braking effort; and brake control means for controlling the brake actuation means to supply an automatic component of the service braking effort. The brake control means is arranged, when standstill of the vehicle is detected and before the parking brake is engaged, to cause the brake actuation means to supply the automatic component of the service braking effort only to the subset of the plurality of wheels.

Automotive vehicle parking systems, methods, and apparatus
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for locating parking spaces are disclosed. According to one method, a request is received from a user of a vehicle to locate a space; the location of the user is determined; a database comprising spaces within a geographic region is accessed; from the database, a subset of spaces within the geographic region is identified, the subset comprising user-specific spaces; a determination is made regarding the availability of the user-specific spaces; and if a user-specific space is available, a transmission is initiated, intended for the user, providing the location of at least one available space. The systems, methods, and apparatus may be used to locate free spaces, may allow users to indicate when they are vacating a space to enable other users to access the space via a “park it forward” approach, and may assign available spaces to users based on an equitable prioritization protocol.

PARKING TERMINAL AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PARKING TERMINAL
Proposed is a parking terminal (1), which encompasses a module (2), which integrates at least one component for operation of the parking terminal (1) and/or interaction between the parking terminal (1) and a vehicle passenger of a vehicle standing at the parking terminal (1) which, upon detection of a vehicle standing at the parking terminal (1), is reversibly moved out of the parking terminal (1) by a driving means for a prescribed distance in the direction of the standing vehicle.
Parking meter system
A parking monitoring and managing method can include capturing image data of a vehicle entering a parking lot or space and transmitting the image data to a remote networked computer system. A time of entry for the vehicle is recorded. Identification of the vehicle is determined upon entry. Image data is also captured for the vehicle when it exits the parking lot or space, and the image data is transmitted to the remote networked computer system. A time of exit is also recorded. The vehicle's identification is again determined upon exit. A violation is determined when a time period expires without the vehicle exiting the lot prior the time period expiring. A parking violation notice is issued to the owner of the vehicle determined to have been in violation. The time period can be, for example, a grace period, a parking time period or a maximum parking time.
PARKING ASSIGNMENT SYSTEM WITH LASER RANGEFINDER AND PARKING METER
A parking assignment system that comprises: a parking assignment device; a computer system running software comprising a parking assignment algorithm wherein the parking assignment algorithm is stored on a computer readable medium; and a sensor; wherein said computer system is in communication with said sensor; wherein said computer system is in communication with said parking assignment device; wherein said parking assignment algorithm is configured to optimally assign a parking space; wherein said parking assignment device is configured to accept input that comprises data from said sensor and communicate said data from said sensor to said computer system; wherein said computer system is configured to use said data from said sensor to track available parking spots; and wherein said computer system is configured to accept input comprising a user's parking preferences and assign an optimal parking space according to said parking assignment algorithm.
