METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINATION OF FALSE ALARM
A system and method for determining a false alarm includes receiving a provisional alarm signal from a safety alarm system, the provisional alarm signal indicating an alarm type. At least one sensor senses at least one present condition of a type corresponding to the alarm type indicated by the provisional alarm signal. A normal alarm signal is transmitted based on the at least one present condition sensed by the sensor.
Method and monitoring centre for monitoring occurrence of an event
A method and monitoring center for monitoring occurrence of events in a monitored area, where a monitoring equipment displays information that reflects sensor data reported from sensors in the monitored area. When the monitoring center detects an abnormal event, it identifies a set of sensors which are potentially impacted by the event, and triggers the sensors to enter a vigilance state of elevated operation and to deliver enhanced sensor data. Further, a representation of the abnormal event is auto-zoomed on the monitoring equipment based on the enhanced sensor data from the sensors to increase resolution of the displayed representation.
System and method for alarm signaling during alarm system destruction
A system and method provide for the immediate transmission of a potential alarm to a remote alarm signal escrow site and from the escrow site to a host station in the event where a control panel or an alarm signaling device is tampered with or destroyed by a disablement tactic, e.g., a “crash and smash intrusion.” A system and method may also send an alarm signal during such an attack by using predictive analysis of real-time events.
Monitoring system to identify unregistered persons entering premises and to secure rooms containing registered occupants
The disclosed embodiments provide an improved monitoring and security system to identify the presence of persons within a premises, to track the relative location of the person as he or she traverse the premises, and to generate an alert and optionally enter a lockdown mode if the person does not possess a pre-registered computing device or wireless transceiver. In the lockdown mode, doors optionally can be shut and locked through remote or local control or automatically if the distance between the person and the particular door falls below a predetermined threshold.
RETROACTIVE MESSAGING FOR HANDLING MISSED SYNCHRONIZATION EVENTS
Various arrangements for handling delayed status update are presented. A network-enabled sensor unit may be used to measure an environmental condition. The sensor unit may determine, based on measuring the environmental condition, an environmental condition status has changed state. A network connection may be established that permits communication with a remote notification service system. This notification service system may maintain a remote status intended to be synchronized with the environmental condition status of the sensor unit. The sensor unit may determine that the environmental condition status has changed prior to communicating the environmental condition status to the notification service system. A historical status array may be transmitted to the notification service system in response to determining the environmental condition status has reverted to the first state prior to communicating the environmental condition status. The historical status array can indicate previous states of the environmental condition status of the sensor unit.
ON-PREMISES COMMUNICATION BRIDGES FOR PREMISES SECURITY SYSTEMS
A method implemented by an on-site secondary control device in communication with an on-site primary control device for a premises security system is provided. The on-site primary control device is configured to trigger an alarm event signal associated with the premises security system, and the on-site secondary control device is physically separated from the on-site primary control device. An alarm event signal is received at the on-site secondary control device from the on-site primary control device indicating that a premises device has been triggered. The alarm event signal is temporarily stored. In response to determining that a criterion associated with the premises system is met, the alarm event signal is transmitted by the on-site secondary control device to the remote monitoring center.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HANDLING LATENT ANOMALIES
Systems and methods for handling latent anomalies in field devices are described herein. When an anomaly is detected, the system can earmark the presence of the detected anomaly with a flag or other notification, and announce the existence of the anomaly to a user. In some embodiments, a self-test may be distributed to devices in the field that may be potentially affected by the latent anomaly so that those devices can monitor for the presence of the anomaly and take appropriate action if detected.
FALSE ALARM REDUCTION SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS
Systems, methods and apparatus are described for reducing the occurrence of false alarms by determining the identify of people, typically via their mobile devices, in or near a monitored premises. A security system employing the embodiments described herein monitors a home or business to determine the presence of mobile devices in or near the premises, and determines whether such mobile devices are authorized, or not, to enter the premises after the security system has been armed. When an intrusion is detected, the security system determines whether any unauthorized mobile devices are present in or near the premises. If so, one or more escalated alarm responses are initiated by the security system. If no unauthorized mobile devices are in or near the premises when intrusion is detected, the security system ignores the intrusion and refrains from performing the escalated alarm responses.
Alert system with zoning using wireless portable detectors and a central station
A system and method of monitoring zones for alarm conditions and automatically alerting individuals in a plurality of zones about the safety of a particular zone is provided. The method includes providing a site map of a predefined area, configuring a plurality of zones in the predefined area, receiving ambient condition data and location data from a plurality of wireless devices located in the predefined area, computing an alarm level for each zone in the plurality of zones based on the received ambient condition data and location data, and transmitting alert notifications to the plurality of wireless devices. The alert notification sent to each wireless device is based on the computed alarm level of the zone in which that wireless device is located relative to the computed alarm level of the other zones in the plurality of zones.
