Methods and systems are disclosed for event management, allowing authorized users or authorities to distribute and display communications on digital displays. In one aspect, an event management communications system receives event data sent from a detection system comprised of a network of sensors. The event management communications system processes the event data to determine an event perimeter, and then selects one or more digital displays based upon the event data or the determined event perimeter. Next, the event management communications system authors one or more contextual communications corresponding to the one or more digital displays and sends said one or more authored communications to said one or more digital displays, thereby allowing the one or more digital displays to display the corresponding one or more communications to a relevant, identified audience.

According to one embodiment, a social information distribution apparatus apportions and accumulates, for items classified, basic information including a position of each of a plurality of information sources and social information transmitted in time series from each of the plurality of information sources, analyzes the accumulated social information, modifies and processes the social information, updates the social information as some of the items, selects social information to be broadcast, determines a broadcast format including at least classification of broadcast ranges, a broadcasting time, and a repetition count within the broadcasting time when broadcasting the selected social information, and transmits the selected social information to a designated broadcast range by a broadcast wave.

The facility security system comprises a central station and a plurality of bracelets. The central station broadcasts a message over a wireless communication signal to the plurality of bracelets. Each message broadcast by the central station identifies an emergency situation within a facility that requires a plurality of previously identified individuals within the facility to respond to. Each of the plurality of bracelets is worn by a previously identified individual selected from the plurality of previously identified individuals. There is a one to one correspondence between the plurality of bracelets and the plurality of previously identified individuals. Each bracelet selected from the plurality of bracelets: a) receives the message broadcast by the central station; and, b) generates a visual, audio, and tactile alert to the previously identified individual to take their specified actions in response to the emergency situation identified by the broadcast message.

A method of communicating an emergency alert includes receiving, by a central content controller (CCC), audiovisual (AV) content from a plurality of sources, encoding the content, transmitting the encoded content to regional controllers (RCs) associated with respective market areas (MAs) for broadcasting over the air (OTA), determining existence of one or more alerts, for each existing alert, identifying recipients designated for receiving the alert and transmitting the alert to devices associated with the identified recipients over a network.

A system to convey user alert messages is disclosed. The system may have a alert service coupled between alert providers and a number of households. After receiving in the alert service an alert message from an alert provider, the alert service may altar the alert message to identify the household designated to receive the alert message. The alert service sends a notification to a home media system within the household designated to receive the alert message.

An audio delivery system (100) can include an alert processor (108) configured to parse alert content. The alert processor can receive first data representing the alert content. The alert processor can convert the alert content to an alert message that includes alert text and parameters. A connected radio server (120), coupled to the alert processor via internet protocol, can insert the alert content into a data stream. The connected radio server can receive second data representing the alert message from the alert processor via internet protocol. The connected radio server can receive instructions from the alert processor via internet protocol to incorporate the alert message into the data stream. The data stream can include an audio stream and the alert message. The connected radio server can provide the data stream to a connected radio receiver (102) via internet protocol.

An electronic device and method for emergency alert message detection based on audio-video information is disclosed. The electronic device receives first media content received over a first broadcast channel. The electronic device renders second media content, which is different from the first media content. The electronic device further detects, from the received first media content, a set of objects associated with a geo-location corresponding to the electronic device. The set of objects corresponds to an emergency at the geo-location. The electronic device further detects an emergency alert audio in the received first media content. The electronic device further extracts an emergency alert message received over a second broadcast channel associated with the geo-location based on the detected set of objects and the emergency alert audio in the received first media content. The electronic device further renders an emergency alert signal associated with the emergency alert message.

For example, according to one aspect, an apparatus comprising a processor and a Radio Frequency (RF) receiver configured to receive a first Special Area Message Encoding (SAME) message may be provided. The processor may be configured to, responsive to a user preference to trigger an alert system only in the event of a tornado warning: determine whether the first SAME message indicates a tornado warning; and in response to determining that the first SAME message indicates a tornado warning, trigger the alert system.
