EVENT INPUT DEVICE TESTING
Devices, systems, and methods for event input device testing are described herein. In some examples, one or more embodiments include a controller comprising a memory and a processor to execute instructions stored in the memory to cause a first event input device of a group of event input devices to perform an automated test process, and determine whether a second event input device of the group of event input devices has detected a hazard event while the first event input device is performing the automated test process.
SECURITY, MONITORING AND AUTOMATION CONTROLLER ACCESS AND USE OF LEGACY SECURITY CONTROL PANEL INFORMATION
A system, method and apparatus for controller functionality for each of security, monitoring and automation, as well as a bidirectional Internet gateway, is provided. Such functionality is provided by virtue of a configurable architecture that enables a user to adapt the system for the user's specific needs. In addition, functionality for gathering configuration information from a previously-installed security system and using that information in a subsequent takeover of that security system is provided.
Server-based notification of alarm event subsequent to communication failure with armed security system
A server-based environment for reporting a status of a security, monitoring and automation controller is provided. Detecting cessation of an always-on persistent network connection between the SMA controller and the server is also provided. Reporting the cessation of the network connection to an end user and defined others is further provided. A further aspect provides for automatically reporting an alarm event to a central station, the end user, and others, in the event the cessation of the network connection occurs while the SMA controller is aimed and after a zone fault event, and not receiving a disarm notification prior to expiration of a preset entry delay.
Fire Alarm System
A fire alarm system according to an embodiment of the inventive concept includes a plurality of sensing systems, each sensing whether a fire has occurred, and a plurality of relay systems each corresponding to any one of the plurality of sensing systems, performing Radio Frequency (RF) communication with the plurality of sensing systems, and performing RF communication with each other, wherein each of the plurality of sensing systems includes a plurality of sensing units having different address information, wherein when detecting a fire, each of the plurality of sensing units transmits alarm information to a corresponding relay system among the plurality of relay systems, wherein when receiving alarm information from another adjacent sensing unit, each of the plurality of sensing units transmits the alarm information to a corresponding relay system among the plurality of relay systems, wherein each of the plurality of relay systems includes a memory in which information of parties corresponding to the address information is stored, and a reception unit configured to receive the alarm information from the plurality of sensing units, wherein when receiving the alarm information, the reception unit transmits a warning message to devices corresponding to the parties, and transmits the alarm information to adjacent relay systems among the plurality of relay systems.
Anti-theft device utilizing an optical communication channel to control power output of an inductive charging coil
An anti-theft device having an inductive charging coil for wirelessly powering an article of merchandise. A retention member is configured to be attached to the merchandise. A pedestal configured to removably support the retention member. Complementary contacts on the retention member and the pedestal are configured to provide electrical power from the pedestal to the inductive charging coil, when the retention member is at rest on the pedestal. The retention member has an optical transmitter configured to communicate optical signals to an optical sensor. When the article of merchandise requests power increase, the optical transmitter emits a corresponding optical signal, which causes a control unit to increase an output voltage of a power supply supplying power to the electrical contacts of the pedestal. In this manner, an optical communication channel is used to increase the power wirelessly provided from the inductive charging coil to the merchandise.
Notification of event subsequent to communication failure with security system
Methods and systems for monitoring a premises are described. A server external to the premises may be in communication with a system at the premises. The server may receive status data from the system from one or more interfaces. If a loss of communication occurs on one interface, then the status data may be received via a second interface. The server may determine timing information for status data received via the first interface and for status data received via the second interface. The server may send, based on the timing information, a message to a computing device indicating the loss of communication.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ALARMS
A method, an apparatus, and a system for managing alarms is provided. In one aspect, the method includes detecting a fault in one of a plurality of alarm systems, wherein each of the alarm systems is configured to generate at least one alarm associated with an event in the technical installation. The method further includes invoking a proxy of the faulty alarm system upon detecting the fault condition, wherein the proxy, when invoked, is configured to perform the functions of the faulty alarm system. Additionally, the method includes processing, by the proxy, event data associated with the event in the technical installation. Furthermore, the method includes generating at least one alarm by the proxy based on the processing of the event in the technical installation and outputting an alarm condition on a device associated with a user of the technical installation.
