Electronic drums
An electronic drum, comprising: a bottom member; a drum head; a drum sensor comprising: a passive resonant circuit mounted on the drum head and having a resonant frequency; and an active resonant circuit mounted on the bottom member and configured to excite the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency; a sensor driver to drive the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal at the resonant frequency; and a detector to detect a level of RF signal from the driven active resonant circuit for sensing a position and/or velocity of the drum head; and a signal processor, coupled to the detector, configured to process the detected level of RF signal to sense a position and/or velocity of the drum head for determining when the drum head is hit.
Computer input devices
A sensing system for a computer input device. The sensing system comprises an actuator to attach to a key top or button. The actuator is moveable along an axis or hinged. The sensing system further comprises a biasing element to exert a biasing force on the actuator directed along the axis. The sensing system further comprises an actuator motion sensor associated with the actuator. The actuator motion sensor comprises a passive resonant circuit configured to be moved by the actuator and having a resonant frequency, an active resonant circuit configured to excite the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency, a sensor driver to drive the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal at the resonant frequency, and a detector to detect a level of RF signal from a driven actuator motion sensor for sensing a position and/or velocity of the actuator.
Instrument carrier with auto-release articulating back brace
A shoulder supported carrier structure has an articulable back brace with an auto-release feature. The auto-release feature allows for the back brace to translate towards/away from shoulder supports of the carrier structure so as to permit better positioning of the carrier structure on a user, as well as easier mounting and removal.
System and method for automatic drumming
A system and method for automatic drumming. A MIDI decoder (1) receives MIDI serial data in real-time, decodes said MIDI serial data to obtain playing instructions, and signals at least one actuator (2) to strike at least one drum according to said decoded playing instructions. User inputs for selecting the MIDI channel and assigning MIDI notes to drums may be provided. The intensity of percussion may be controlled by the MIDI velocity and may be overridden by the user at the MIDI decoder. The at least one actuator may employ a solenoid and comprises features to mitigate latency between the MIDI serial data received and the drum hit. The at least one actuator may comprise a clamping or securement means enabling fast and convenient repositioning thereof. The at least one actuator may comprise means for substitution of a percussion implement, such as a drumstick, brush, or mallet.
ELECTRONIC HI-HAT AND OPERATING METHOD OF ELECTRONIC HI-HAT
The disclosure provides an electronic hi-hat and an operating method of the electronic hi-hat that can improve the feeling at the time of hitting. Since an edge portion of a bottom frame is formed in a flat plate shape, the weight of an outer edge portion of the bottom frame can be reduced. As a result, even if a hit top cymbal comes into contact with the bottom frame, the weight of the outer edge portion of the bottom frame is less likely to hinder the swinging (displacement caused by the hit) of the top cymbal. Therefore, the feeling at the time of hitting the top cymbal can be lightened, so that the feeling at the time of hitting can be improved.
Systems and methods for capturing and interpreting audio
A device is provided for capturing vibrations produced by an object such as a musical instrument such as a cymbal of a drum kit. The device comprises a detectable element, such as a ferromagnetic element, such as a metal shim and a sensor spaced apart from and located relative to the musical instrument. The detectable element is located between the sensor and the musical instrument. When the musical instrument vibrates, the sensor remains stationary and the detectable element is vibrated relative to the sensor by the musical instrument.
Percussion instrument with at least two tone bars
The invention relates to a percussion instrument having at least two tone bars, each with an upper and lower side and at least one resonance box with at least one resonance body, wherein the resonance body consists of a neck and a resonance chamber.
Bass drum pad and drum kit
A bass pad includes a frame body, a pad body, and a leg-opening mechanism. The frame body includes a pad base and a main post. The pad base is fixed to a clamp of a pedal device. The main post is arranged integrally with the pad base. The leg-opening mechanism includes two legs, two stays, and a sliding member. The height and angle of the pad base are adjusted by moving the sliding member in an axial direction of the main post to open or close the legs and the stays with respect to the main post.
Bass cajon and portable drum kit system incorporating same
A portable drum kit system is configured to be converted from a transport configuration to a drumming configuration. The drum kit system includes a cajon with a plurality of other drum components and a convertible storage container that converts to a seat when in a drumming configuration. The portable drum kit system is easy to transport in one trip, as all the components are coupled to, configured in or on, the convertible storage container that has a set of wheels and a handle. The portable drum kit eliminates the need for expensive and bulky drum covers, cymbal cases typically required for transportation of these components. The drum kit may include a snare drum, tom tom, hi-hat, cymbal and a tambourine. The cajon may be configured to produce only bass frequencies and may include high and mid tone sound absorbing material within the cajon.
BUCKET TYPE DRUM SET
A drum set comprising a bucket is provided. The bucket can have a top opening, a bottom side, a striking side, an opposing resonant side, and two other sides. A lid is provided to cover the top opening when the drum set is in storage mode. The drum set also has a plurality of upward extending component mounting shafts removably attached to the bottom side of the bucket when the bucket is placed bottom side up. The drum set has one or more percussion modules configured to removably attach to one or more of the plurality of component mounting shafts. The bottom module can include a bottom mounting member removably attached under the top side of the bucket when the bucket is placed bottom side up. The bottom mounting member has at least two bottom clamps configured to clamp at least two sides of the bucket. A drum kick assembly can be removably attached to the bottom mounting member and positioned on the striking side of the bucket and including a beater positioned to strike the striking side of the bucket to produce a sound. A hi-hat pedal assembly can be removably attached to the bottom mounting member and positioned on the resonant side of the bucket.
