Music may be generated by electronically applying one or more functions that change a compositional nature of a musical input in a first tonality to generate a musical output in a second tonality in response to an event in a videogame. Data corresponding to the output melody may be recorded in a recording medium.

An information processing system acquires a detection signal corresponding to each manipulated operator, among the plurality of operators, that has been manipulated by a user and identifies a manipulation amount or intensity of each of the plurality of operators based on the acquired detection signal. The system further identifies a chord that corresponds, from among the plurality of operators, to a combination of detected two or more manipulated operators. The identifying of the chord includes determining a root note pitch included in the chord based on the manipulation amount or intensity of each of the detected two or more manipulated operators.

Independent aspects of the disclosure further ensure that, within the composition work, such as a media product or a real-time audio stream, chord spacing determination and control are practiced to maintain musical sense in the new composition. Further, a structuring of primitive heuristics operates to maintain pitch and permit key transformation. The system and its functionality provides signal analysis and music generation through allowing emotional connotations to be specified and reproduced from cross-referenced Form-Atoms.

A chord information extraction device includes an acquirer, a score type determiner, an extraction region determiner and a chord information extractor. The acquirer acquires score image data representing a reference score. The score type determiner determines a score type of the reference score from among a plurality of predetermined score types based on the acquired score image data. The extraction region determiner determines a chord extraction region in the reference score based on extraction region information that defines a relationship between a plurality of score types and a chord extraction region from which chord information is to be extracted. The chord information extractor extracts the chord information from the acquired score image data based on the determined chord extraction region.

An environment awareness system includes a memory and first and second modules. The memory is configured to store environmental data, one or more music composition templates, and one or more maps, where the environmental data is indicative of at least one of a state, condition, or change in an environment in which the environment awareness system is located. The first module is configured to receive and store the environmental data in the memory. The second module is configured to: based on the one or more music composition templates and the one or more maps, convert the environmental data to a music signal including modifying variables in the one or more music composition templates based on the environmental data; and based on the music signal, play out a musical composition via an audio system to audibly indicate the at least one of the state, condition, or change in the environment.

A method implemented by a processor includes receiving performance data including pitch data; determining, based on the pitch data that is included in the received performance data, a key among a plurality of keys; selecting, based on the determined key and the pitch data, a first-type image from among a plurality of first-type images; and displaying the selected first-type image.

A musical keyboard interface capable of controlling either a string instrument or synthesizer controller includes a small, consistent keyboard interface that moves with each hand along one or both edges of a stationary ruler. The ruler segments measure the static location of each note in chromatic order. The keys are oriented in length perpendicular to the length of the ruler and each key is as wide as each ruler segment. As the keyboard moves along the ruler and its keys realign with new ruler segments, the keys become able to articulate the notes indicated by their position. The transformation is gradual, smoothly sliding notes and chords in varying magnitudes and directions simultaneously.

A music composition, editing, and playback system and method provides a user interface design based on geometric interpretation of music theory replacing traditional modern music notation with geometric shapes including chords represented by polygons that are colored with colors or hues.

Computer-based systems, devices, and methods for automatically generating aesthetic chord progressions and key modulations in musical compositions are described. Known harmonic relationships are expanded upon to produce a much richer set of harmonic transition probability models compared to conventional music theory, and these models are leveraged by a computer-based musical composition system to generate new musical compositions and variations of existing musical compositions. Techniques for enabling a computer-based musical composition system to automatically determine when to introduce a key modulation, what key to module to, and what chord progression(s) to use within the new key are all described.

The present disclosure provides a method for mixing audio, pertaining to the technical field of multimedia. The method includes: after acquiring an audio material to be mixed, determining a beat feature of a target audio, performing beat adjustment on the audio material based on the beat feature of the target audio; and performing audio mixing on the target audio based on the audio material adjusted by the beat adjustment.
