Interactive instruments and other striking objects
Systems, methods, and devices for providing interactive striking objects (e.g., drumsticks) and performing actions in response to striking motions of the striking objects are disclosed. In some embodiments, the systems and methods provide an interactive drumstick, which includes a lighting display located at a tip portion of the interactive drumstick, a motion detector contained at least partially within the drumstick, a processor and memory contained at least partially within the drumstick, and an interactive system stored within the memory of the drumstick. The interactive system includes a striking motion module that determines striking motions of the drumstick with respect to a virtual percussion instrument based on accessing information measured by the motion detector, and a display module that causes the lighting display to present a certain type of illumination based on the striking motions determined by the striking motion module.
Tone Effects System with Reversible Effects Cartridges
Embodiments are provided for a tone effects base unit, system, and method of using the tone effects base unit. A tone effects base unit includes an integrated housing and one or more slots integrated into the housing. The one or more slots are configured to receive reversible sound effects cartridges, whereby the reversible sound effects cartridge include one or more sound effects that are applicable to sound produced from an electric instrument and emitted from an amplifier. A tone effects base unit is configured to include one or more effects mode lights associated with each slot so that the one or more effects mode lights is illuminated a predetermined color depending on whether a reversible sound effects cartridge is inserted into the slot or not and depending on whether the reversible sound effect cartridge is inserted in a normal mode or in an FX loop mode orientation.
MUSIC-COLOUR SYNAESTHESIA VISUALIZATION METHOD
A visualization method for music-color synesthesia, belonging to the fields of cognitive psychology, color science and computer graphics, and relating to the visualization of the music synesthesia correlation of colors and the generation of a musical color combination scheme. In the method, a musical scale system is presented in the form of a color scale system, and the musical elements are presented through the color correlation to realize the synesthetic conversion between colors and musical elements, and on this basis, a color graphical conversion of the musical structure is performed. The implementations include: a conversion from colors to musical scales, a conversion from colors to chords, a conversion from colors to rhythm and a conversion from colors to texture etc.
Electronic percussion controller, instrument and method
An electronic percussion instrument controller includes a selection input device, a setting input device and a processor. The selection input device is configured to select an instrument which defines a tone that corresponds to a musical performance input device. The setting input device is configured to selectively set a tone lock for the musical performance input device. The processor is programmed to maintain a set tone of the musical performance input device for which the tone lock is set by the setting device.
INTERACTIVE INSTRUMENTS AND OTHER STRIKING OBJECTS
Systems, methods, and devices for providing interactive striking objects and performing actions in response to striking motions of the striking objects are provided. The interactive system includes a striking motion module that determines striking motions based on accessing information measured by a motion detector, and an action module that provides actions based on the striking motions determined by the striking motion module.
Electronic mute for musical instrument
Methods for using at least one musical instrument mute for electronic modification of sound emitted from a musical instrument. A mute body is positionable within a bell or horn of the musical instrument, and the body has a proximal end portion and is configured to at least partially occlude the bell or horn. A microphone is positioned at the proximal end portion of the mute body and is configured to transduce a sound produced by the musical instrument. A speaker is positioned in the mute body as well. A microcontroller is configured to receive a signal from the microphone and to electronically modify the sound of the instrument when emitted through the speaker. Some mutes also provide a communication transceiver, sensors, and input devices to remotely control and manipulate sound produced by the mute.
CROWD-SOURCED TECHNIQUE FOR PITCH TRACK GENERATION
Digital signal processing and machine learning techniques can be employed in a vocal capture and performance social network to computationally generate vocal pitch tracks from a collection of vocal performances captured against a common temporal baseline such as a backing track or an original performance by a popularizing artist. In this way, crowd-sourced pitch tracks may be generated and distributed for use in subsequent karaoke-style vocal audio captures or other applications. Large numbers of performances of a song can be used to generate a pitch track. Computationally determined pitch trackings from individual audio signal encodings of the crowd-sourced vocal performance set are aggregated and processed as an observation sequence of a trained Hidden Markov Model (HMM) or other statistical model to produce an output pitch track.

Musical sound generator
A musical sound generator is provided including a tube defining a resonant cavity, the tube having a plurality of sound producing chimes configured to produce an audible sound when at least one object impacts on at least one of the chimes; a reservoir configured to hold a number of objects; and a transfer mechanism configured to transfer the objects from the reservoir to an elevated position within the resonant cavity, wherein the objects fall down from the elevated position within the resonant cavity by gravity after being transferred by the transfer mechanism, to strike the plurality of sound producing chimes; and wherein the position of the reservoir is configured to be moved depending on the level of the objects held in the reservoir.
Electronic guitar pick and method
An electronic guitar pick, system, system and method may include an enclosure forming a cavity, the enclosure having a first end that is substantially pointed and a second end opposite the first end that is substantially flat, the enclosure having a thickness proximate the cavity greater than a thickness proximate the first end. The electronic guitar pick, system, and method may further include a sensor contained, at least in part, within the cavity and configured to generate a sensor output based on an interaction with the enclosure and a sensory output device, communicatively coupled to the sensor, configured to output a sensory output based, at least in part, on the sensor output.
