BRAKE PAD WEAR SENSOR
A brake pad wear measuring system for measuring brake pad wear for a vehicle disc brake system includes an inductive sensor operable to create a magnetic field and a target. At least one of the sensor and the target are mounted for movement along a braking axis with a component of the disc brake system. The positions of the sensor and target relative to each other changes in response to application of the disc brake system. The distance that the sensor and target move relative to each other in response to application of the disc brake system increases an amount that is equal to the total wear of the inner and outer brake pads. The sensor is responsive to the change in inductance caused by movement of the target in the magnetic field to provide a signal indicative of brake pad wear.
Check Device
A check device includes a check device body; and a base, comprising a first base body, a second base body, and a locking mechanism. The check device body is mounted to the first base body; part of the second base body can be accommodated in an inner cavity of the first base body; the second base body can move with respect to the first base body; part of the second base body can be accommodated in or extend out of the inner cavity of the first base body; and the locking mechanism is used for locking the second base body with respect to the first base body, such that the part of the second base body is accommodated in the inner cavity of the first base body, and unlocking the second base body with respect to the first base body, such that the part of the second base body extends out of the inner cavity of the first base body. The check device can be used for checking a brake disc of a vehicle and can also check a tread surface of a tire, and is stable and effective.
METHOD OF MEASURING AIRCRAFT BRAKE DISK WEAR
The present disclosure relates to a method of measuring wear of a disk in an aircraft brake having a wear indicator that is movably mounted on a stationary portion of the aircraft brake and that moves progressively with increasing wear of the disk. The method includes using a picture-taking appliance to take at least one photograph of the wear indicator while an aircraft is stationary on the ground, and estimating a position of the wear indicator and a wear level of the disk by analyzing the photograph.
Brake component monitoring
A solution for evaluating a component of a vehicle, such as a brake pad of a rail vehicle, is provided. An imaging component can acquire image data for a target area of the vehicle within which at least a portion of the component is visible. The target area can be illuminated by an illumination device that is, for example, horizontally offset from the imaging device to highlight the three-dimensional structure in the target area by creating shadows in the image data. A set of points corresponding to the component can be identified in the image data using the shadows. A measurement for at least one attribute of the component can be calculated from the set of points.
Brake force sensor arrangement for a brake unit
A brake force sensor arrangement for a brake unit includes a brake unit including a brake force application member; and a strain gage positioned on the brake force application member. The strain gage may be configured to measure the stress, strain, or stress and strain of the brake force application member. The stress, strain, or stress and strain of the brake force application member may be proportional to the brake force applied by the brake unit.
Methods, systems, and apparatus to test a vehicle brake system
According to one aspect, a method includes receiving, in a dynamometer, brake pedal position information. The brake pedal position information indicates a position of a brake pedal operatively coupled to a vehicle. The method also includes displaying, via a display in communication with the dynamometer, an indication of the position of the brake pedal based on the brake pedal position information. The method further includes determining a brake force generated via a brake of the vehicle when the position of the brake pedal is within a predetermined range of brake pedal positions.

DEVICE FOR REGISTERING THE BRAKE APPLICATION FORCES BETWEEN A BRAKE MEMBER AND A BRAKE ROTOR OF A DISC OR DRUM BRAKE
An apparatus for detecting the clamping forces between a brake body (1) and a brake rotor (2) of a disc brake or drum brake comprises a multi-layer measuring film (3) that can be inserted between the brake body (1) and the brake rotor (2) and which multi-layer measuring film (3) comprises a sensor layer (6) with pressure-dependent changing electrical properties and two electrically conductive layers (7) connected to an evaluation device (5). For assignment of the determined clamping forces to the area of the sensor layer (6) exposed to the respective pressurization, the measuring film (3) has two electrode layers (8) connected to the evaluation device (5) for determining the film capacitance between the electrode layers (8).
Measurement tool and method of measuring brake stroke
A measurement tool and a method of measuring brake stroke of a brake assembly. The method may include installing the measurement tool on the brake assembly. An actuator shaft may be actuated with a lever tool. The measurement tool may measure the brake stroke when the actuator shaft is actuated.
