A metrology apparatus has an illumination source that directs collimated light to a reference surface and to an optical component having a test surface that is in parallel with the reference surface. A first imaging lens defines a Fourier transform plane for light reflected from the reference surface and the test surface. A spatial filtering element is actuable to a blocking position that blocks specular light at the transform plane. A second imaging lens forms, at an image plane, an image of the test surface. A sensor array generates image data from received light at the image plane.

A screeding system for use with a screeding machine during screeding of an uncured concrete surface includes a control and a plurality of sensors. The sensors are disposed at the screeding machine, which has a screed head assembly that is movable over uncured concrete to screed the concrete surface. The sensors include elevation sensors that sense an elevation of the screed head assembly relative to a reference plane established at the concrete area. The control processes data captured by said plurality of sensors while the screeding machine is screeding the uncured concrete surface. Responsive to the data processing of captured data, the control estimates a flatness or levelness or quality of the surface of the concrete being screeded. While the screeding machine is screeding the uncured concrete surface, the control generates an output indicative of the estimated flatness or levelness or quality of the surface.

A method and device recognize and analyze surface defects in three-dimensional objects having a reflective surface, in particular motor vehicle bodies. In which method the surface defects are identified by the evaluation of an image, recorded by a camera in the form of a raster image of pixels, of an illumination pattern projected by a first illumination device onto a part of the reflective surface using a two-dimensional raster coordinate system. The surface defects are identified exclusively using two-dimensional image information with the aid of image processing algorithms without the need for “environmental parameters”, and complex geometric calculations can be omitted. The solution is fast and robust and can be carried out using differently configured first illumination devices, which makes it suitable for mobile applications, for example as a hand-held module. It is also made possible for the method to be optimized by a “deep learning” strategy.
Machine and method for acquiring data for measuring the twist and concavity of agricultural discs
The machine includes a rotational mounting bracket, upon which an agricultural disc is supported and held. A hold-down plate that can rotate freely is arranged above the mounting bracket. A linear actuator displaces the hold-down plate vertically in a downwards direction to press the agricultural disc. A laser measurement device is coupled to a linear guide where the hold-down plate forms part of a rotational head-piece fixed to a rod of the linear actuator. A method includes determining a central reference height on a model disc, determining the height of points in the periphery of the disc to be measured, calculating the average of the measured heights and comparing with the central reference height to determine whether the disc is valid or not.

A communication device includes a communication control unit generating a communication signal to be transmitted to an external source and an encryption unit connected to the communication control unit through a wiring. The communication control unit stores a predetermined communication signal indicative of a predetermined message and a target duration required for from a transmission of the predetermined communication signal to a reception of the same from the encryption unit. The communication control unit further counts an actual duration taken from the transmission of the predetermined communication signal to the reception of the same from the encryption unit. When the actual duration is longer than the target duration, the communication control unit determines that a fraudulent circuit is inserted into the wiring for fraudulently acting on the communication signal.

When a user is holding the handle of the frame at an angle between 0° and 180°, the user can reflect radiant energy through said fabric onto the vehicle body and create a whorl reflection pattern on the impression to maximize viewing of said impression by the user.
