An onboard detector includes a cable including plural electric wires and a sensor module provided at an end of the cable. The sensor module includes a sensor, a housing member and a molded article. The sensor includes a sensor main body including a detecting element and plural lead wires electrically connected to the electric wires. The housing member includes a joint housing portion that houses joints of the electric wires and the lead wires. The molded article includes molding resin that is molded so as to cover at least a portion of the housing member and so as not to come into contact with the sensor main body. The joint housing portion includes a wire holding wall holding the electric wires and a sensor holding wall holding the lead wires so as to hold the sensor.

The cable bushing has a conduction hole that allows the housing and the shielded cable to be electrically connected to each other, and the housing has a conduction part that can be inserted into the conduction hole.

In one embodiment, the overmolded magnet includes a layer of overmold material defining an open overmold window in the side and/or top exterior surfaces of the layer of overmold material. Another embodiment includes a pair of spaced magnets that are completely encapsulated in a two step molding process before being molded into a rotary arm member.

A sensor enclosure comprises a cover and a structure. The structure can be encased by the cover. The structure comprises a frame, a ring, and one or more anchoring posts. The frame can be configured to mount one or more sensors. The ring, disposed peripherally to the frame, can be operatively coupled to the cover. The ring can include a drainage ring plate that drains rainwater accumulated on the cover away from the sensor enclosure. The one or more anchoring posts, disposed underneath the frame and the ring, can be used to anchor the sensor enclosure to a vehicle.

A radio sensor module having a sensor base module having at least one sensor circuit board that has a sensor, and/or having a terminal for connection to a sensor external to the radio sensor module; a process terminal and/or an extended sensor terminal; a housing portion that accommodates the sensor base module and the sensor circuit board; and a radio sensor unit having a structural carrier that carries therein a radio circuit board and an energy store that supplies the radio circuit board with electrical energy. The energy store has an electrical battery and an electrical condenser which are electrically connected in parallel. A modular system is also provided for forming such a radio sensor module.
