To provide an inexpensive indicator member which can prevent a dark area from being formed at a location above a reflection part, an indicator unit having the indicator member and an indicator instrument having the indicator unit. A hollow reflection part provided to an indicator part of an indicator main body of a light-emitting indicator includes a plurality of partial reflection parts having at least an pointing direction reflection face, a rear end direction reflection face and a corner formed at an intersection of the pointing direction reflection face and the rear end direction reflection face and arranged at a location opposed to the base part. The corners of the respective partial reflection parts adjacent to each other are displaced in a pointing direction or in a rear end direction.

Instrument cluster gauge

A dial gauge assembly includes a single circuit board that supports light emitting diodes for both illuminating a pointer and backlighting a liquid crystal display. The dial gauge assembly controls illumination of the pointer by switching on and off a plurality of segments disposed within the LCD.

Gauge 360 illumination lightguide

A gauge assembly includes a gauge surface and a light guide. The gauge surface includes a concave surface having an illuminable scale. The light guide forms a geometric shape corresponding to the concave surface of the gauge surface. The light guide has ends that curve away from the gauge surface to receive light.

Indicating device with light-pickup configuration

A pointer is rotational relative to the dial plate. The pointer includes a pointer shaft, which is non-opaque to conduct light therethrough. A driver unit includes a drive shaft coaxial with the pointer shaft. A light source emits light. A hub interconnects the pointer shaft with the drive shaft. The hub includes a light pickup, which is non-opaque to receive light from the light source and to conduct the light into the pointer shaft.

A process measurement display is disclosed that includes an indicator configured to change position to indicate a process variable. The display also includes an illumination source configured to provide light to the indicator. The display further includes a processor configured to control the illumination source to provide at least one additional output modality.

Indicating device with dial plate having grooves

A dial plate is in a disc shape. A pointer body is located at a center of the dial plate and rotational relative to the dial plate. The dial plate has a plurality of grooves extending radially outward from the center. The pointer body is configured to emit light radially outward to illuminate one of the grooves to produce a linear illumination extending linearly outward from the pointer body.

A process variable indicator is provided. The process variable indicator includes a process variable sensor having an electrical characteristic that varies with the process variable. Measurement circuitry is coupled to the process variable sensor and is configured to provide an indication relative to the electrical characteristic. A processor is coupled to the measurement circuitry and is configured to compute a process variable based on the indication and determine, among a plurality of ranges, which range the process variable is within. The processor generates a local visual output based on the process variable and the determined range. A method of visually indicating a process variable is also provided.

Pointer for instrument cluster of vehicle

A pointer to indicate gradations formed in a dial of a vehicle instrument cluster includes: a pointer blade to receive and emit light received from the lower portion of the dial when a blade body formed integrally with a blade arm is rotatably supported above the dial; a pointer weight disposed adjacent to a rear surface of the blade body and having a light through-hole to allow light received from the lower portion of the dial to pass through the pointer weight; a light pin part extending to the rear surface of the blade body from one end of the blade arm and inserted into the light through-hole; and a weight supporter, fit between the pointer blade and the pointer weight and below the light through-hole to receive light from the lower portion of the dial and transfer the light to the pointer blade.

Meter device which uses a central and peripheral light source

A meter device includes an instrument panel, a coaxial motor, a central light source, a peripheral light source, and units. The coaxial motor includes rotation shafts which rotate around a single axis perpendicular to the instrument panel. The central light source is disposed near the rotation shafts. The peripheral light source is disposed more distantly from the rotation shafts than the central light source. The units rotate together with the rotation shafts, respectively. The units includes indicator parts, respectively. Each of the indicator parts guides light to emit the light, thereby indicating a surface of the instrument panel. The units include a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a light path which guides light from the central light source to the indicator part. The second unit includes a light path which guides light from the peripheral light source to the indicator part, and a non-light guide part that prevents the light of the central light source from being guided to the indicator part.
