High precision liquid dispenser
In one embodiment, a liquid dispenser includes a liquid reservoir, a measurement device providing at least one signal indicative of the amount of liquid remaining in the liquid reservoir, an electrically actuated valve coupled to a tube outlet exiting from a bottom of the liquid reservoir, and a processor. The processor is electrically connected to the measurement device and operatively coupled to and controlling operation of the valve. Further, the processor is configured to determine a valve open time for dispensing a requested amount of liquid. The valve open time depends upon a preliminary time based on the requested amount and at least one signal from the measurement device, and an adjustment to the preliminary time based on a difference between a requested amount and a measured amount determined by the measurement device for at least one previous dispense.

Metering Apparatus
A metering apparatus including a scale on which a metering head is disposed in such a manner that the scale measures the weight of the metering head, and a metering tool for taking up and dispensing substance, attached to the metering head. The metering tool is configured as a glass tubule having a glass punch slidably disposed therein, forming a seal. The metering head is provided with a first gripping tool for clamping the glass tubule in place and with a second gripping tool for clamping the glass punch in place. The metering head furthermore has a raising and lowering device for raising and lowering the second gripping tool relative to the first gripping tool, such that the glass punch can be raised and lowered in the glass tubule of the metering tool.

WEIGHT-BASED PHASE COMPOSITION RATIO DETERMINATION
Several embodiments include a method of computing a phase composition ratio of a two-phase mixture in a pipe. For example, the phase composition ratio is a void fraction or a dryness fraction. The two-phase mixture can have one or more material substances that do not travel as a whole (e.g., at least two of solid phase, liquid phase, and gaseous phase or two liquid materials of different densities that do not mix). A load cell can measure, continuously, weight of the pipe and content of the pipe. Then, a computing system or a circuit can compute, continuously, a moving average of the continuously measured weight. The computing system or the circuit can compute a change in the phase composition ratio of the two-phase mixture based on the computed moving average.
QUANTITATIVE DISPENSING SYSTEM
Provided is a quantitative dispensing system includes a supply device for supply a weighing object, and a weighing device including a holding unit to hold the weighing object supplied from the supply device, a load sensor unit to detect a load of the weighing object supplied to the holding unit, and an arithmetic processing unit to calculate a weighed value of the weighing object from a detection result on the load and control an operation of the supply device. The arithmetic processing unit performs control to stop the supply device when a current weighed value becomes not less than a supply stop weight value calculated by subtracting a stop weighed value deviation from a supply target weight value. The stop weighed value deviation is calculated in consideration of a flow rate and a supply pressure of the weighing object and a filter setting in the weighing device.
Container Handling System, Container Carrier, and Method for Filling Containers
A container carrier connects to a filling machine with a gripper on one end that suspends a container during transport thereof along a transport direction. A deformation sensor arranged on a surface of the carrier detects the carrier's deformation when, as a container is filled, the weight of filling product deforms the carrier.

Scale Lock
A lock assembly includes at least a lock component, a lock member, and a bracket. The lock component is securable to a load cell. The lock member is configured to move into a first position to provide an unlocked state in which the lock member is disengaged from the lock component. In the unlocked state, the load cell is physically unsecured from the lock member and enabled to operate. The lock member is configured to move into a second position to provide a locked state in which the lock member is engaged with the lock component. In the locked state, the load cell is physically secured to the lock member via the lock component. The bracket is configured to support the lock member in relation to the lock component.
Device for gravimetric dilution of a sample with a predetermined quantity of liquid and corresponding method
A device for gravimetric dilution of a sample in a container with a predetermined quantity of liquid. The device includes a support for receiving the container defining a volume able to receive the container in an open position and an injector configured to inject the liquid into the container when the container is received by the support. The injector has an injection axis. The injector and the support are configured in such a way that during an injection of the liquid in the container, the injection axis is directed towards a chosen side edge of the container, in such a way that the liquid is spilt substantially over the side edge of the container.
