Monitoring device for a vacuum-insulated system
20210131908 · 2021-05-06 ·

A monitoring device (118) for monitoring the leak-tightness of a vacuum-insulated system has a corrugated bellows (108) which is connected in terms of flow to an evacuated space (104) of the vacuum-insulated system in such a way that, in the event of an increase in pressure in the evacuated space, the length of the corrugated bellows (108) is adjusted beyond a threshold value. A position detector (113) connected to an energy store (115) responds to the change in length of the corrugated bellows and outputs a signal. The position detector outputs a signal to a display device (116), which provides an indication if a leak in the vacuum-insulated system occurs.

PIPE PRESSURE TESTING METHOD AND APPARATUS

A sealing device is provided for use with a fitting. The fitting has circular port and a flow path with a longitudinal axis. A circular port encircles a portion of the flow path opposite the port with the sealing device inserted into the port. The sealing device has a circular top with two opposing surfaces depending therefrom but inclined so the surfaces are closer at the top. A continuous sidewall joins the periphery of the two surfaces. The opposing surfaces are inclined and spaced apart further at the top than at an end opposite the top. A cylindrical hole through the opposing surfaces encircles the flow path during use.

Dual lock flow gate

A dual lock flow gate includes a valve with a flapper which may be fixed and/or locked in various positions for example to prevent fluid flow in the production string during lowering of the production string in the casing by blocking flow in the production string with the dual lock flow gate or for example to prevent rotation of the pump motor by preventing fluid flow in the production string.

Tub overflow drain test system

A tub drain overflow test system employs a kit with a connecting pipe with a front cylindrical portion having an inner threading and an intermediate annular flange coaxial with the front cylindrical portion. The front cylindrical portion extends through an overflow hole of a tub so that the annular flange, optionally with a seal ring, abuts the rear surface of the tub wall. A test cap has outer threading that mates with inner threading of the front cylindrical portion. The test cap has an annular flange and a breakaway test seal with a projecting grip tab. The test cap has an inner lip that provides a catch for inwardly extending tabs on a fixture to attach. The test cap allows the overflow drain to be tested. A seal portion is removed to provide access to the opening and the finishing fixture is mounted in place.

Poly welded annulus test head systems and methods

Techniques implementing and/or operating a system includes a pipe segment and a test head assembly secured to the pipe segment. The pipe segment includes tubing that defines a pipe bore through the pipe segment and a fluid conduit in a tubing annulus of the pipe segment. The test head assembly includes barrier material poly welded to the tubing of the pipe segment to facilitate sealing the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus from environmental conditions external to the tubing of the pipe segment and a fluid port fluidly connected to the fluid conduit defined within the tubing annulus to enable integrity of the tubing to be tested at least in part by flowing a test fluid into the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus via the fluid port, extracting fluid from the fluid conduit defined in the tubing annulus via the fluid port, or both.

Method and device for leak check of air data system

A device for use in a leak check test of an air data system includes a device body, an opening extending into the device body with the opening being configured to allow a probe to be at least partially inserted into the opening, and walls surrounding the opening with the walls being situated to seal a port in the probe such that air is prevented from flowing into or out of the port while the probe is inserted into the opening. A method of performing a leak check test includes covering the port with the device to seal the port, heating air within a gas path in the air data system, measuring the change in pressure of the air resulting from an increase in temperature of the air, and determining whether the air data system is sealed depending on the change in pressure of the air.

System and Method For Non-Destructive, In-Situ, Positive Material Identification Of A Pipe

A system and method for non-destructive, in situ, positive material identification of a pipe selects a plurality of test areas that are separated axially and circumferentially from one another and then polishes a portion of each test area. Within each polished area, a non-destructive test device is used to collect mechanical property data and another non-destructive test device is used to collect chemical property data. An overall mean for the mechanical property data, and for the chemical property data, is calculated using at least two data collection runs. The means are compared to a known material standard to determine, at a high level of confidence, ultimate yield strength and ultimate tensile strength within +/10%, a carbon percentage within +/25%, and a manganese percentage within +/20% of a known material standard.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HIGH VOLTAGE LEAK DETECTION

A leak detection system includes a testing interface, which includes a rotation holder configured to retain and rotate a package. The testing interface includes a plunger apparatus configured to actuate a plunger to apply a pressure to the package before and/or during the package being inspected using a high voltage leak detection (HVLD) apparatus. The testing interface also includes a controller configured to operate and coordinate the operation of the testing interface with operation of the HVLD apparatus.

PLUG FOR PRESSURE TESTING AND METHOD OF PRESSURE TESTING
20200300723 · 2020-09-24 ·

A method of providing a pressure test on a tube to identify leakage includes the steps of (a) mounting a clamp on a tube adjacent an end and such that a plug which is part of the tool is positioned to plug an inlet into the tube, (b) actuating the tool to cause the plug to provide a fluid tight seal in the inlet, and (c) applying a source of pressure to the tube, and monitoring the pressure within the tube, and identifying a leak should the pressure drop more than a predetermined amount in a particular period of time. A tool for use in providing a seal on a tube end to allow a pressure test is also disclosed.
