Methods for using the system to collect samples for transport and further processing to detect disease are also disclosed.

TISSUE CASSETTE READER

An apparatus and system including an apparatus to identify an identifier on a tissue cassette in an assembly of a plurality of tissue cassettes including a light source operable to illuminate a plurality of tissue cassettes; a sensor operable to automatically capture an identifier on an individual tissue cassette or an image of the plurality of tissue cassettes in the assembly; and where the sensor is operable to capture reflected light from the light source of an image of the plurality of tissue cassettes, a converter to convert image data into an electronic signal. The system may include a processor operable to compare an identifier with a tissue processing protocol. A method including sensing identifiers on tissue cassettes each containing a tissue sample in an assembly comprising a plurality of tissue cassettes; and determining or verifying a tissue processing protocol of a tissue sample based on the sensed identifier.

Monitored mobile personal substance testing system
10244198 · 2019-03-26 ·

A system for testing an individual for illicit or other substances is described. The system operates in tandem with a mobile device (smartphone) application, which employs a camera of the mobile device to capture and record the self-administered specimen collection process for verification and rule compliance. The system guides the user through the process via on-screen prompts on the mobile device, and includes tracking of the collected specimen from the moment of collection until it is sealed in a tamper-proof container to be mailed for external testing at a lab. A breathalyzer may also be used with the system to test for the presence of alcohol in the user's body, the use of which is also monitored and recorded via the on-board camera of the mobile device for verification.

Air quality test unit and process
10215669 · 2019-02-26 ·

An air quality test unit for attachment to a vent of a HVAC system with air flow there through. The air quality test unit contains at least two substrate panels arranged in a v-shape form wherein at least one panel includes a sticky surface or a collection container. The air quality test unit is attachable to the vent by one or more clips. The sticky surfaces or collection container of the substrate panels capture airborne substances and contaminants emanating from the air flow of the HVAC system vent. A culture growth medium may be disposed in the collection container or on the sticky surface. The air quality test unit kit provides a user with an air quality test unit and process for shipping the unit to the laboratory for analysis.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SAMPLING AND ANALYZING ORGANIC MATERIAL

A system and a method are provided for sampling and analyzing organic material, including soil, fertilizer, manure and leaves. A sample container having porous sidewalls and a unique identifier is provided. A geographic position corresponding to a location where a sample was taken is associated with the unique identifier. The sample container with the sample contained therein is received, and the sample is compacted while inside the sample container. The sample is analyzed while inside the sample container using a Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) system and analysis results are generated. The analysis results of the sample are associated with the unique identifier of the sample container.
