Systems and methods of ambient gas sensing in a vehicle
An imaging system connected to an occupant monitoring system includes communications with an apparatus for measuring gas or airborne compound concentrations in a vehicle cabin. The apparatus includes a housing configured as a flow tube in fluid communication with ambient air in the vehicle cabin. A spectrometer is mounted within the housing and subject to ambient air flow through the housing, and the spectrometer is connected to a light source and receives reflected light from the air flow to detect by spectrum analysis the concentration of target gases and/or airborne compounds. The spectrometer identifies spectral changes in the light and reflected light within the ambient air flow. The spectrometer communicates with computerized vehicle control systems, and runs software stored to calculate the concentration of target gases and/or airborne compounds from the spectral changes.

METHOD FOR MEASURING CONDENSABLE PARTICULATE MATTERS FORMED FROM EXHAUST GAS
The present invention relates to a method for measuring condensable particulate matters formed from exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, including the steps of sucking exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine; diluting the sucked exhaust gas to simulate it to atmospheric condition; a first measurement step of branching some of the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition and measuring particulate matters including condensable particulate matters and filterable particulate matters; a second measurement step of branching the rest of the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition to remove the condensable particulate matters and measuring the particulate matters including only the filterable particulate matters; and comparing the first measurement step and the second measurement step to calculate an amount of the condensable particulate matters in the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition.

METHODS OF GEOLOGIC SAMPLE ANALYSIS
A method for analyzing a geologic sample includes illuminating the geologic sample with a halogen light beam, and capturing an image of the geologic sample on a camera thereby collecting spectra reflected from a surface of the geologic sample. The method further includes processing the image to identify rock properties of the geologic sample and determine a qualitative descriptor of the rock properties. The method further includes analyzing the qualitative descriptor of the rock properties of the geologic sample to determine subsurface lithography.
