Systems and methods for diagnosing an aftertreatment system are provided. The system includes an aftertreatment system having a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The system includes a controller configured to: receive sensor data including pressure change data and flow rate data from a sensor; determine a flow resistance of the DPF and a pressure change value; determine that the flow resistance is less than a flow resistance threshold; determine whether the pressure change value is less than a pressure change value threshold; trigger a first failure warning based on determining that the flow resistance is less than the flow resistance threshold and that the pressure change value is less than the pressure change value threshold; and trigger a second failure warning based on determining that that the flow resistance is less than the flow resistance threshold and that the pressure change value is greater than the pressure change value threshold.
Filter unit quality management system and filter unit quality management method
The present application relates to a system for quality management of a filter unit disposed in an intake passage. The system includes a plurality of evaluation parameter detection units configured to detect an evaluation parameter relating to of each filter constituting a filter layer of the filter unit. By determining a distribution of the evaluation parameter based on the detection values, the quality evaluation is performed.
FILTER EFFICENCY OF A FLUID FILTER
Systems and methods determine a filter efficiency of a fluid filter. A characteristic of fluid flow of a fluid is monitored at a first point and at a second point on a flow path of a fluid filter. A particle absorption level of the fluid filter is determined that is a difference in the characteristic of the fluid flow at the first point and the second point. The particle absorption level of the fluid filter is at a particle absorption saturation level based on the difference in the characteristic of the fluid flow at the first point and the second point. The particle absorption saturation level is an indicator that the particles retained by the fluid filter is decreased and replacement of the fluid filter is required to increase the particles retained by the fluid filter to be above the particle absorption saturation level.
Optimization of rotary filters relative to risk of clogging a facility for pumping water from a natural site
In the management of a facility pumping water from a natural environment containing impurities, the facility makes use of at least one rotary filter purifying the pumped water while some impurities at least partially clog the rotary filter. In particular, provision is made for estimating an evolution over time of a pressure loss caused by impurities clogging the rotary filter, based at least on data relating to the natural environment, dimensions of the rotary filter, and local measurements relating to at least one water level N.sub.amont upstream of the filter and to a flow rate of water Q.sub.aspiré drawn in downstream of the filter. Such an estimate of the evolution over time of the pressure loss makes it possible to anticipate possible risks of insufficient water supply to the pumping system (POM) downstream of the filter (FIL), or even to design filters (FIL) adapted to the needs of specific pumping facilities.
DEFECTIVE POROUS SHEET DETECTION SYSTEM AND DETECTION METHOD
The present disclosure relates to a system for detecting a defective porous sheet. The system includes a jig having a through-hole, a heating unit, a temperature sensor, a controlling unit, an air permeability-determining unit and a judging unit. In this manner, it is possible to provide a novel system for detecting a porous sheet, which may be a defective separator after being coated with a porous coating layer, beforehand by using the air permeability and shut-down temperature of the porous sheet itself.
Inspection method and inspection system for pillar-shaped honeycomb structure
A method for inspecting a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure including the steps of: imaging a pattern of transmitted light from the second end face according to arrangement of the plugged portions of first cells and second cells, with a camera via a light diffusing film placed parallel to a second end face of the pillar-shaped honeycomb structure in a non-contact state with the second end face, which pattern is obtained by irradiating a first end face with light; and detecting a defective plugged portion(s) of the second cells based on an image of the pattern of transmitted light imaged with the camera.
Systems and methods for inspecting particulate filters
A particulate filter inspection system for a particulate filter includes a compressed air source, a primary conduit, a controller, a probe, and a gauge. The compressed air source is configured to draw air from an air source. The primary conduit is configured to receive the air from the compressed air source. The probe is coupled to the primary conduit and communicable with the controller. The probe is configured to interface with a face of the particulate filter to provide the air to only a sector of the particulate filter. The gauge is configured to determine a pressure of the air within the primary conduit when the probe is providing air to only a sector of the face of the particulate filter. The controller is configured to receive the pressure from the gauge, compare the pressure to a target upper pressure, and provide an indication that the particulate filter is dirty if the pressure is not lower than the target upper pressure.
SYSTEM FOR MEASURING SHUTDOWN TEMPERATURE AND MELTDOWN TEMPERATURE OF SEPARATOR
The present disclosure relates to a system for determining the shut-down temperature and melt-down temperature of a separator. The system includes a jig having a through-hole, a heating unit, a temperature sensor, a controlling unit and an air permeability-determining unit. In this manner, it is possible to provide a novel system for determining the shut-down temperature and melt-down temperature of a separator by using the air permeability (Gurly value) of the separator.
Method and system for filter device integrity testing
Methods and systems for determining the integrity of a filter device are provided.
Method and apparatus for real-time direct membrane monitoring
A membrane surface monitoring system (MSM) and membrane surface monitoring cell for direct and unambiguous detection of membrane surface fouling and mineral scaling. The system includes a membrane surface monitoring system cell, a control valve, a retentate flow meter/transmitter and a controller. The MSM cell has a visually-observable membrane, an edge-lit light guide, an edge illumination light source, a retentate module, and a permeate module. A pressurized inlet stream is fed into the MSM cell. The feed contacts a membrane sheet, leading to membrane-based separation operation to produce retentate and permeate streams. The MSM cell integrates surface illumination and imaging components to allow direct real-time visualization and spectral imaging of the membrane surface in real time. The pressure on the feed-side of the MSM cells is approximately that of the membrane plant element being monitored such that the plant control system can adjust plant operating conditions.
