Method for analyzing infrared spectroscopy spectrum of polyacrylonitrile-based fiber
10989655 · 2021-04-27 · ·

The present invention relates to a method for characterizing a polyacrylonitrile-based fiber, the method having a reduced error. In a spectroscopic analysis method for a polyacrylonitrile-based fiber according to the present invention, a contact degree between an inspection target and an attenuated total reflection crystal is predicted through Equation 2 and is applied to Equation 1 to correct a spectrum peak height, and thus, the peak height of the infrared spectroscopy spectrum may be measured with repeatability.

Method and means to analyze thermographic data acquired during automated fiber placement

A method of detecting defects in a composite structure includes applying heat to a surface of a composite structure. Thermographic images or frames captured by a moving camera may be utilized to form temporally aligned images that include temperature data (pixels) from a plurality of frames, wherein the (pixels) comprise data captured at a simple (uniform) time delay from the time at which heat was applied. The temporally aligned thermographic data for the surface region may include variations due to differences in thermal transients caused by defects in the composite structure. The variations in the thermographic data may be utilized to detect one or more defects in the composite structure.

A method is claimed for identifying and quantifying a material or mixture of materials, where the material or the mixture of materials comprises one or more components X identifiable by means of spectroscopic methods and/or with a hyperspectral camera. The method comprises the steps of

A. generating one or more signals by excitation with a radiation source in the range of 280-1100 nm and recording thereof by a suitable spectrometer system, a hyperspectral camera or a photodiode,
B. evaluating the signal(s) and/or hyperspectral image(s) obtained and assigning the signal(s) and/or hyperspectral image(s) to a component X, and subsequently assigning the identified component X to a material or a mixture of materials,
C. quantitatively determining the material or mixture of materials.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING A QUALITY OF AN ABRASIVE SURFACE PREPARATION OF A COMPOSITE SURFACE PRIOR TO A POST-PROCESSING OPERATION
20200254583 · 2020-08-13 · ·

There is provided a method for determining a quality of an abrasive surface preparation of a composite surface, prior to the composite surface undergoing a post-processing operation. The method includes fabricating a plurality of levels of abrasive surface preparation standards for a reference composite surface; using one or more surface analysis tools to create target values for quantifying each of the levels; and measuring, with the surface analysis tools, one or more abrasive surface preparation locations on the composite surface of a test composite structure, to obtain one or more test result measurements. The method further includes comparing each of the one or more test result measurements to the levels, to obtain one or more test result levels; determining if the one or more test result levels meet the one or more target values; and determining whether the composite surface is acceptable to proceed with the post-processing operation.

In an embodiment, the system comprises: a sensor for determining an item of hair condition information for a user, a memory configured to store the item of hair condition information, and a processor configured to update at least one item of hair condition information in the memory based on a discrepancy between an item of hair condition information for a user determined by using the sensor after a hair treatment and a predicted item of hair condition information for the user.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPUTER-ASSISTED DETERMINATION OF A HAIR COLOURING OUTCOME
20200225165 · 2020-07-16 · ·

A method for determining a hair colouring result of a hair dye for dyeing hair involves determining, for each partial area of a hair region of hair to be dyed, a value for a first initial state parameter and for a second initial state parameter in the particular partial area. The first initial state parameter contains information concerning a hair state and the second initial state parameter contains information regarding a hair colour. The first initial state parameter and the second initial state parameter describe an initial colour state of the hair to be dyed in the partial area. The method further involves determining the initial colour state of the hair to be dyed for the hair region and computer-assisted determination, for a particular hair dye, of a forecast hair colouring result for the hair in the hair region, taking into consideration the determined initial colour state of the hair in the hair region.
