WET GAS HOLDUP GAS FRACTION AND FLOW METER
A method for determining multi-phase flow properties of a fluid is disclosed. The method includes measuring a first time for a first ultrasonic signal to be emitted from a first transducer into the fluid, reflected off an inner surface of the pipeline, and received back at the first transducer. Measuring a second time for the first ultrasonic signal to be emitted from the first transducer into the fluid and received at a second transducer. Calculating, using the first time and the second time, at least one of: a liquid to gas ratio, a fluid density, a gas holdup, a liquid holdup, and a fluid velocity of the fluid flowing through the pipeline.
Ultrasonic flow metering
Embodiments include a novel, easy to install, non-intrusive, ultrasonic water flow meter with a self-calibrating three-piezoelectric transducer configuration attached externally to a water pipe, that allows for accurate measurement of water flow, and can provide the flow data to a remote system for billing and further analysis. The water flow data can further be analyzed for water consumption by individual fixtures, in support of conservation and usage management efforts.
Systems, methods, and apparatus for tracking location of an inspection robot
Systems, methods, and apparatus for tracking location of an inspection robot are disclosed. An example apparatus for tracking inspection data may include an inspection chassis having a plurality of inspection sensors configured to interrogate an inspection surface, a first drive module and a second drive module, both coupled to the inspection chassis. The first and second drive module may each include a passive encoder wheel and a non-contact sensor positioned in proximity to the passive encoder wheel, wherein the non-contact sensor provides a movement value corresponding to the first passive encoder wheel. An inspection position circuit may determine a relative position of the inspection chassis in response to the movement values from the first and second drive modules.
System and method for nanoscale photoacoustic tomography
A method and system of nanoscale photoacoustic tomography (nPAT) for non-invasive three-dimensional mapping and characterization of fine cellular structures (such as but not limited to organelles, vesicles, and macromolecules) of biological samples is disclosed.
ULTRASONIC PHASED ARRAY TRANSDUCER FOR THE NDE INSPECTION OF THE JET PUMP RISER WELDS AND WELDED ATTACHMENTS
An ultrasonic phased array transducer assembly having a single housing in which a plurality of phased array transducer subassemblies are mounted at a skewed angle relative to a leading face of the housing and to each other, with each transducer mounted on composite wedge(s) at different orientations within the housing.
TRANSPARENT ULTRASONIC SENSOR-BASED ULTRASONIC OPTICAL COMPOSITE IMAGING SYSTEM
Disclosed herein is a transparent ultrasonic sensor-based ultrasonic optical composite imaging system including at least one light source and a transparent ultrasonic sensor coaxially aligned with light emitted from the light source and allowing the light emitted from the light source to be transmitted therethrough, wherein the transparent ultrasonic sensor is disposed between the light source and a subject.
MICRO-RESOLUTION ULTRASONIC NONDESTRUCTIVE IMAGING METHOD
A system and methods of nondestructive testing are described. The system includes an immersion ultrasonic probe and a laser vibrometer. The immersion ultrasonic probe and a sample are immersed in a fluid contained in an immersion tank and the laser vibrometer is disposed outside of the immersion tank. A tightly focused ultrasonic beam from the immersion ultrasonic probe and a laser beam from the laser vibrometer are both transmitted upon a sample, the laser beam being transmitted through the wall of the immersion tank. Since the ultrasonic beam is tightly focused and the laser beam samples only a small area impinged by the ultrasonic beam, microscopic resolution is obtained.
SEALANT DETECTION APPARATUS, METHOD AND ASSEMBLY
Apparatus, assembly and method for investigating the integrity of a seal and sealant contained in a sealing fitting used in hazardous locations. The apparatus/assembly can include signal transmitters and signal receivers provided on a conduit system on either side of a sealing fitting. The apparatus/assembly can include probes placed on either side of a sealant within a sealing fitting, the probes placed in probe ports provided through the wall of the sealing fitting.
ACOUSTIC MONITORING DEVICE FOR FUEL QUALITY
Within the scope of the invention, a device for monitoring the quality of a fuel stored in a fuel tank has been developed. The main field of application is diesel-operated vehicles. The fuel is therefore preferably diesel fuel. The device is defined by the fact that means for determining the boiling point of the fuel are provided. Furthermore, a method for monitoring the quality of a fuel stored in a fuel tank has also been developed within the scope of the invention. The main field of application is diesel-operated vehicles. The fuel is therefore preferably diesel fuel. The method is defined by the fact that the boiling point of the fuel or a deviation of this boiling point from a normal value is measured. During the analysis of real injection pumps which have failed it has been detected that an excessively low boiling point of the fuel can cause the fuel to outgas. As a result, bubbles in which the necessary lubrication is no longer provided locally form in the injection pump. Furthermore, the lubricating effect is dependent on the fuel having a certain minimum viscosity. A low boiling point is also correlated with a low viscosity. Therefore, overall, the boiling point (initial boiling point, IBP) is a particularly good indicator especially of those deviations from standard values for the fuel which entail particularly costly damage.
ULTRASOUND PROBE AND ULTRASOUND SYSTEM
An ultrasound probe includes a casing, a first transmitting unit, a second transmitting unit and a receiving unit. The first transmitting unit is used for transmitting a first push beam and the first push beam has a first transmitting frequency. The second transmitting unit is used for transmitting a second push beam and the second push beam has a second transmitting frequency. The receiving unit has a receiving frequency and is used for selectively receiving a reflective wave of the first push beam and the second push beam, wherein the receiving frequency is covered with the first transmitting frequency and the second transmitting frequency. The receiving unit, the first transmitting unit and the second transmitting unit are disposed in the casing side by side.
