Environmental monitors for monitoring a predetermined environmental exposure, for example, an historical heat exposure such as a cumulative ambient heat exposure and/or a peak ambient heat exposure may include an environmental indicator material and a security material. The environmental monitor may be configured to attach to a host product for monitoring the predetermined environmental exposure of the host product, and additionally serve as an anti-counterfeiting indicator.

This invention relates to indicating devices, such as time-temperature indicators based on lateral diffusion of a vapor of a solid and/or liquid mobile phase (e.g., a sublimeable dye or an activator) through a non-porous stationary phase, such as a thin layer of a polymeric material. The lateral diffusion of the mobile phase creates a noticeable boundary in the stationary phase whose movement depends upon processes, such as time and temperature.
Time and/or Temperature Sensitive Devices and Methods of Use Thereof
An apparatus, system and method for a time temperature indicator (TTI) which is capable of providing a summary of the time and temperature history of a good to which it is coupled, optionally including with regard to providing an indication as to whether one or more temperature thresholds have been breached. According to other embodiments, the TTI specifically provides an indication as to whether a temperature threshold at or around the freeze point has been breached, optionally even without providing a time and temperature history.

A sensor portion is electrically connected to the first transponder for detecting food status and communicating the status to the second transponder. The sensor portion comprises a metalloporphyrin dye which configures an impedance change upon binding with an gaseous analyte, and a printed numerical array.
ELAPSED TIME TEMPERATURE INDICATOR AND METHOD OF ACTIVATION AND USE
A time temperature indicator for measuring elapsed time after reaching a threshold temperature includes a reservoir containing an indicator fluid that may be solid below the threshold temperature and that liquefies above the threshold temperature. Activation enables a flow of liquid from the reservoir to reach a migration medium so that when the temperature of the indicator exceeds the threshold temperature after activation liquid migrates through the migration medium producing a colour change therein. A narrow passage is foldable along and parallel to a longitudinal axis thereof so as to form a barrier to liquid migration when the passage is folded while permitting liquid migration through the passage when the passage is unfolded. A micro-fluid valve may be likewise constructed for regulating a flow of liquid between an inlet and an outlet coupled by a narrow passage foldable along and parallel to a longitudinal axis thereof.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING PRODUCT FRESHNESS
The method and system can include freezer and refrigeration units that are equipped with thermostats or modules for controlling and monitoring the temperatures inside the units. The thermostats may be communicatively coupled to a printer used for inventory labeling and date information. The thermostats may also include a variety of alarms that may be triggered. The method and system may provide a label that shows that any food products stored in the refrigeration and freezer units was maintained at a predetermined or desired temperature range during the storage period. The label can thus provide an indicator of freshness where one or more indicia may be printed thereon showing that the food product was properly stored, a temperature range during the storage period, duration of the storage period, expected shelf life of the food product, and the like.
