A CONTROL UNIT AND A CASSETTE INSERTABLE IN A MILK ANALYSIS APPARATUS
Control unit (240) and cassette (130) of a milk analysis apparatus (120) comprising a first wireless communication device (210), for communication with a memory device (230) of a cassette (130) via a second wireless communication device (220) comprised in the cassette (130). The cassette (130) is insertable into the milk analysis apparatus (120) and comprises a predetermined number of milk analysis units (260a, 260b, 260c) for one-time usage. The control unit (240) is configured to determine a number of consumed milk analysis units (260a, 260b, 260c) during a milk analysis session; and transmit information related to the consumed number of milk analysis units (260a, 260b, 260c) during the milk analysis session, to the memory device (230) of the cassette (130), via the first wireless communication device (210), for storage in the memory device (230) of the cassette (130).
Biological sample analyzer with cold consumable detection
In one embodiment, a biological sample analyzer has a housing having at least one outer wall that defines a cavity therein. A receptacle, which can support a consumable holder containing a biological sample, is disposed within the internal cavity. At least one heater applies heat to the receptacle when the consumable holder is supported by the receptacle. At least one heater sensor detect temperatures of the receptacle over time. A controller detects whether the consumable holder is below an ambient temperature based on a decrease in temperature of the receptacle when the consumable holder is inserted into the receptacle. The controller also increases an amount of thermal energy transferred from the at least one heater to the consumable holder when the controller detects that the consumable holder is below the ambient temperature so as to heat the consumable holder to a target temperature.

SYSTEMS FOR GROSS PROCESSING OF TISSUE SAMPLES AND RELATED METHODS
Tissue sample cassettes for receiving tissue samples include an upper tray including compartments separated by dividers, a lower tray coupled to the upper tray and having a central recess, and an absorbent material located in the recess of the lower tray. Related systems and methods for automated gross processing of tissue samples are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR MEASURING THE CONTAMINATION OF DRINKING WATER BY MICRO-ORGANISMS, IN A DRINKING WATER CONDUIT
The invention is based on a method, particularly a locally fixed method, for measuring a contamination of drinking water by microorganisms (16) in a drinking water conduit (12).
It is proposed that a contamination of drinking water is predicted in at least one prediction procedure (88) by means of at least one contamination risk parameter, and an actual contamination of drinking water is measured in at least one measuring procedure (90).
Cassette and analyzer device
A cassette for loading into a bay of an analyzer device, the cassette having a supply chamber for a test tape, an uptake chamber to receive used tape and a test zone between the chambers, where the tape is positioned at a test site for testing purposes, wherein the cassette includes a frame that extends across the test zone on a loading side of the tape, the frame being in a protective position relative to the tape, parallel to and aligned with the tape in the test zone, to protect the tape as the cassette is inserted into the bay of the analyzer device.
Medical analyte testing system and operating method therefor
A method for operating a medical analyte testing system having a handheld meter, particularly, a glucose meter, and a test magazine is disclosed. In the disclosed method a replaceable test magazine including a plurality of test elements is provided in the handheld meter for conducting successive analyte tests. An auxiliary measuring unit of the handheld meter measures at various points of time at least one ambient parameter, including temperature or humidity. The method checks for a threshold violation by comparing the measured ambient parameter with a preset threshold. The preset threshold is lowered after an initial period of use of the test magazine, and a use-up period is adjusted based on the check for a threshold violation.
