It includes a first camera assembly movably coupled to a support frame and capable of movement along the upper surface of the hide and a second camera assembly movably coupled to the support frame and capable of movement along the lower surface of the hide. A computing device is coupled to the first camera assembly and the second camera assembly, such that the first camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the upper surface of the hide and the second camera assembly detects the locations of inconsistencies in the lower surface of the hide. The computing device digitally stores the locations of the inconsistencies of the upper surface of the hide and the locations of the inconsistencies of the lower surface of the hide.

Mobile chemical analysis

A target sample to be chemically analyzed is received at a microfluidic device which is part of an analysis card. The microfluidic device includes at least one input layer configured to receive the target sample, at least one intermediary layer, and at least one readout layer configured to present one or more color attributes at one or more readout regions in response to one or more colorimetric reactions to the target sample. An image of the readout layer of the microfluidic device is obtained. A calibration file that corresponds to the analysis card is obtained. The calibration file includes a calibrated model of at least one color attribute based on data from at least one known chemical attribute of at least one standard sample processed by a calibration card. A data processing function is executed on the obtained image by comparing the one or more color attributes at the one or more readout regions to the calibrated model of the at least one color attribute to determine at least one chemical attribute of the target sample.

A method of determining a presence of a wire-edge at the site of an internal edge of a ring surface of a ring of a container includes lighting of the ring surface of the container from above using a radial light beam at 360 and observing the ring surface according to a peripheral observation field. A first principal circle is formed in a first image zone. At least one secondary arc of a circle concentric to the first so-called principal circle, and radially offset relative to the latter is also formed in the first image zone. The first so-called principal circle and any first secondary arc of a circle are searched using the first image zone. A device for executing the determining method is provided along with a line including the device.

FAST IMAGE ACQUISITION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING PULSED LIGHT ILLUMINATION AND SAMPLE SCANNING TO CAPTURE OPTICAL MICROGRAPHS WITH SUB-MICRON FEATURES

An optical inspection system for detecting sub-micron features on a sample component. The system may have a controller, a camera responsive to the controller for capturing images, an objective lens able to capture submicron scale features on the sample component, and a pulsed light source. The pulsed light source may be used to generate light pulses. The camera may be controlled to acquire images, using the objective lens, only while the pulsed light source is providing light pulses illuminating a portion of the sample component. Relative movement between the sample component and the objective lens is provided to enable at least one of a desired subportion or an entirety of the sample component to be scanned with the camera.

High-Speed Method and System for Inspecting and Sorting a Stream of Unidentified Mixed Parts

A high-speed method and system for inspecting and sorting a stream of unidentified mixed parts are provided. The system includes a pair of inspection stations each of which includes a vision-based robotic subsystem including a robot configured to pick up a self-supporting part and place the part on a fixtureless rotary stage. A second subsystem optically measures a profile and features of the part during part rotation. A processor is operable to compare the profile and features of the part with the profile and corresponding features of stored templates to identify a matching template. A mechanism including a part sorter directs unidentified parts and parts having an unacceptable geometric dimension or defect to a reject part area and directs identified parts having acceptable geometrical dimensions and no significant defects to good part areas.

Automated Aircraft Inspection System
20200324919 · 2020-10-15 ·

A method, apparatus, and system for inspecting a fuselage of an aircraft. A rail is positioned within an interior portion of the fuselage of the aircraft such that the rail extends through the interior portion of the fuselage. An inspection device is attached to the rail. The inspection device moves along the rail and the position of the rail enables the inspection device to inspect the interior portion. Video data is sent to a computer system over a wireless communications link between the inspection device and the computer system. The video data is displayed on a display system for the computer system. Inspection operations are performed in the interior portion of the fuselage with the inspection device attached to the rail when a group of commands to perform the inspection operations are received from the computer system over a wireless communications link between the inspection device and the computer system.
