A method and system is disclosed for acquiring image data of a subject. The image data can be collected with an imaging system in a selected manner and/or motion. More than one projection may be combined to generate and create a selected view of the subject.
Radiation-based thickness gauge
Described are system and method embodiments for measuring a thickness of a material layer using electromagnetic radiation. In some embodiments, a system includes a radiation source configured to direct first radiation towards a first surface of a layer of material having a thickness between the first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The first radiation causes the material layer to emit secondary radiation. A filter is positioned between the material layer and a radiation detector and in the beam path of the second radiation in order to attenuate a portion of the second radiation associated with fluorescence of the material to emit third radiation. Then, the radiation detector is configured to detect the third radiation and a controller is configured to provide a measurement corresponding to the thickness of the material layer based on the detected third radiation.

The filter device includes a housing and a filter cage having a central axis. The filter cage is formed by arranging two or more pairs of filtering sheets, which are made of different materials and/or have different thicknesses, in an encircling way. The filter cage is rotatable about its central axis such that at least one pair of filtering sheets is capable of filtering the radiation beam to adjust an outputted dosage of the radiation beam of the human body security inspection apparatus.

The X-ray source, the acousto-optic tunable X-ray filter, and the radio frequency transmitter are used to generate a monochromatic X-ray beam; the front ionization chamber is used to measure the intensity of the X-ray beam before passing through the sample; the rear ionization chamber is used to measure the intensity of the X-ray beam after passing through the sample; the front ionization chamber signal amplifier, the rear ionization chamber signal amplifier, the data collector, and the computer are used for data acquisition and data processing.
Apparatus and method for inspecting a power line
An apparatus for inspecting a component of an aerial power line. A frame has a support member extending along a support member axis. The support member is mountable about the power line in proximity to the component. The support member is rotatable about the line axis upon being mounted about the power line. A stabilizing member is mountable to a stabilizing structure separate from the power line. The stabilizing member is mountable to the support member to rotate the support member about the line axis. A source of electromagnetic imaging energy is mounted to the support member and has an emitter to face the component. A detector is mounted to the support member at a distance from the source to position the component between the source and the detector. The source and/or the detector is displaceable along the support member axis to vary the distance separating the detector and source.
