NOVEL ANTIBODY AGAINST RIBOSOMAL PROTEIN S3 AND COMPOSITION FOR DIAGNOSING BIOLOGICAL STRESS
20180244761 · 2018-08-30 ·

The present invention relates to an antibody acting as a stress sensor by sensing various stresses in a living organism including a human. Particularly, the present invention relates to a novel antibody specifically recognizing the above protein modifications, and a composition for diagnosing a biological stress including the antibody, based on the fact that one molecular ubiquitin protein binds to lysine residue of ribosomal protein S3 (rpS3) in a stressed state so that the ubiquitin protein is modified. In addition, the present invention relates to a simple and accurate kit for diagnosing the biological stress using the same.

Method for determining radiosensitivity

The present invention relates to a method for the in vitro determination of the radiosensitivity of a subject. More particularly, the invention relates to a method comprising a step of inducing an exogenous stress on a biological sample from a subject, followed by the comparison of the presence or level of at least one compound chosen in a group of defined compounds, in said biological sample and in a reference sample. The present invention also relates to the use of said at least one compound as predictive biomarker of the radio-sensitivity of a subject. The invention also relates to a kit for the detection of the presence or level of at least one of said compounds, usable in a method according to the invention.

BIOMARKERS FOR PREDICTING PRETERM BIRTH IN A PREGNANT FEMALE EXPOSED TO PROGESTOGENS

The present invention provides compositions and methods for predicting the probability of preterm birth in a pregnant female. The present invention provides a composition comprising one or more biomarkers selected from the biomarkers set forth in FIGS. 1, 3 through 12 and Tables 7 through 19, or optionally at least one pair of biomarkers selected from the biomarkers listed Tables 7 through 19, wherein the pair consists of one overexpressed and one underexpressed biomarker of the biomarkers set forth in Tables 7 through 19. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method of determining probability for preterm birth in a pregnant female, optionally in a pregnant female treated with a progestogen (e.g., 17-alpha hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17P)), the method comprising measuring in a biological sample obtained from the pregnant female one or biomarkers selected from the group consisting of one or more of the biomarkers of the invention.

MASKED FLUOROGENIC LIPID COMPOUNDS, LIPID PARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

The present disclosure relates, in part, to masked fluorogenic lipid compounds, lipid particles (e.g., giant vesicles and/or lipid nanoparticles) comprising the same, and methods of use thereof for the detection of redox agents in a sample. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides a method of diagnosing a disease or disorder associated with oxidative, nitrosative, or nitrative stress.

IN VITRO MODEL FOR PATHOLOGICAL OR PHYSIOLOGIC CONDITIONS

The present invention generally relates to in vitro methods for mimicking in vivo pathological or physiologic conditions. The methods comprise applying shear forces to a cell type or cell type plated on a surface within a cell culture container. Methods for testing drugs or compounds in such systems are also described.

A DNA METHYLATION AND GENOTYPE SPECIFIC BIOMARKER FOR PREDICTING POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
20180037954 · 2018-02-08 ·

The present invention relates to the field of biomarkers. More specifically, the present invention relates to the use of biomarkers to predict post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In one embodiment, a method for predicting PTSD in a subject comprises the steps of (a) measuring the DNA methylation level of a CpG dinucleotide in the 3 untranslated region of SKA2; (b) identifying the genotype at a SNP within the 3 UTR of SKA2, and (c) predicting PTSD in the subject using a prediction algorithm.
