SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE
A power MOSFET and a sense MOSFET for detecting a current of the power MOSFET are formed in a semiconductor chip, and a source pad and a Kelvin pad are formed of a source electrode for the power MOSFET. The source pad is a pad for outputting the current flowing to the power MOSFET, and the Kelvin pad is a pad for detecting a source potential of the power MOSFET. The source electrode has a slit, and at least a part of the slit is arranged between the source pad and the Kelvin pad when seen in a plan view.
Digital voltmeter topology
A system may include two input terminals, e.g., HI and LO, and a floating circuit that is physically separate from the input terminals and includes a gain amplifier. The floating circuit can be surrounded by a conductive enclosure that is electrically connected to the second input terminal. The floating circuit can further switch between input signals received from the first and second input terminals to the gain amplifier and the floating circuit ground.
Transistor driving a load, and corresponding circuit arrangement for sensing
A pre-driving stage drives one or more Field Effect Transistors in a power stage driving a load. A method for measuring current flowing in the Field Effect Transistors includes: measuring drain to source voltages of the one or more Field Effect Transistor; and measuring an operating temperature of the one or more Field Effect Transistor. The current flowing in the Field Effect Transistors is measured by: calculating the respective on drain to source resistance at the operating temperature as a function of the measured operating temperature and obtaining the current value as a ratio of the respective measured drain to source voltage over the calculated drain to source resistance at the operating temperature.
