A current sensor is configured to detect a current flowing through an electrical conductor. The current sensor includes a core and a coil wound around the core. The core has a hollow configure to allow the electrical conductor to pass through the hollow. The core substantially has a C-shape haying a gap connected to the hollow. At least a part of the gap of the core is located inside the coil. This current sensor suppresses the influence of external noise.
POTENTIAL MEASURING DEVICE AND METHOD
A portable unit is arranged to measure a value for polarized potential in a corrosion protection system comprising a protected structure, an anode and a reference electrode, which portable unit is connectable to the protected structure and to the reference electrode. The portable unit is arranged toperform voltage measurements to detect and monitor an instant-off sequence, wherein the corrosion protection system is turned off for a predetermined time period during normal operation. If an instant-off sequence is detected, then a voltage measurement is performed to measure a voltage signal representing a direct current potential curve for the corrosion protection system during the instant-off sequence. A step response detected in the voltage signal during an initial IR drop and a subsequent voltage decay are analysed. An initial value for the voltage signal at the time of the step response is determined and displayed as a value for polarized potential.
CURRENT SENSOR AND MEASURING METHOD FOR THE SWITCHED SENSING OF AN ALTERNATING CURRENT
A current sensor (12) serves to detect an alternating current (16). The current sensor (12) comprises a coupler (20) designed to decouple a proportional part of the alternating current (16) as a measurement current (22). In addition, the current sensor (12) comprises a switching terminal designed to feed in a switching signal (15). The current sensor (12) furthermore includes a switchable rectifier (21) designed to rectify the measurement current (22) in a manner controlled by the switching signal (15) and to output it as a rectified measurement current (Vsense).
Dynamic response of power delivery network for attestation and identification
A method and authenticator for authenticating a device in a system using the electrical properties of the device is disclosed. Embodiments of the disclosure enable authentication by receiving a plurality of input seed values from a requestor. For each input seed value, load stimuli are generated to produce an electrical load sequence on a power delivery network powering at least part of the system. Noise induced in the power delivery network is measured in response to the electrical load sequence using one or more sensors located on the power delivery network. Based on the measured noise, a dynamic response property (magnitude and phase response as a function of frequency) of the power delivery network corresponding to a respective input seed value can be determined and returned to the requestor.
DEVICE FOR POWER SUPPLYING A LOAD AND MEASURING THE CURRENT CONSUMPTION OF THE LOAD
Load current consumption measured using a first resistor having a high resistive value and a second resistor having a low resistive value. Differential amplifiers, the outputs of which are coupled to analog-to-digital converters and to a processing circuit unit, are connected to each of the nodes of the resistors. Depending on the current level, the processing circuit unit advantageously selects one of the analog-to-digital converters to estimate the present consumption of current in the load. Each input terminal of a resistor is advantageously power supplied from a power amplifier and each power amplifier is advantageously driven by a control loop. For low load currents, the first amplifier associated with the first resistor power supplies the load through the resistors while, for high load currents, when this first amplifier saturates, the second amplifier associated with the second resistor, takes over from the first amplifier to continue to power supply the load.
ANOMALY DETECTION AND PROTECTION
An apparatus for detecting an anomaly in an electronic system embodying at least two integrated circuits, and where necessary, removing/mitigating the anomaly. The anomaly detection is based on sensing the characteristics of either the current, the voltage, or both the current and voltage of the supply rail connected to the at least two integrated circuits. When an anomaly occurs, the anomaly is detected by one sensing circuit sensing that the characteristics are different from that when the electronic system is functioning normally.
