Methods, apparatus, and systems are provided for measuring the supply of a consumable product to a facility over time and analyzing the measurements to determine the consumption or supply of the product by one or more loads and/or sources in the facility, and to determine induced and residual heat flow through the facility's envelope. Various aspects compare the measured supply of the consumable product to a database of consumption signatures. Operating conditions and facility characteristics may be further considered in determining a particular user's access of the consumable product. Thermal resistance factors of the building may be determined, which are based on the induced and residual heat flow through the facility. Finally, one or more signatures of a building system are analyzed to determine a building's overall efficiency, including determining a controllable load of a building and/or determining an efficient start time for one or more building systems.

Energy consumption alerting system, platform and method

An energy consumption alerting system is provided. The system includes a plurality of sensors deployed at different locations of at least one monitored site, the sensors being able to provide location-specific energy consumption values. The system further includes a data aggregation facility so as to sum up location-specific energy consumption values associated with at least two corresponding predetermined sensors of the plurality of sensors to obtain an aggregated energy consumption value. The system further includes an alerting facility this is able to compare the aggregated energy consumption value with an user-defined threshold level and notify a user if the at least one aggregated energy consumption value exceeds the at least one user-defined threshold level. A cloud-based energy consumption alerting platform and an energy consumption alerting method are also provided.

Power grid system and method of determining power consumption at one or more building connections in a power grid system. The power grid system comprises a power grid comprising a mains grid portion; a plurality of building connections, each building connection comprising a first meter configured for metering power imported from the mains grid portion to the associated building and power exported from the associated building into the mains grid portion; for one or more of the building connections, at least one second meter disposed downstream from the first meter relative to the mains grid portion and configured for metering power exported to the associated building from an auxiliary generator; and a consolidation unit configured for determining power consumption at said one or more of the building connections based on readings from the associated first and second meters.

Monitoring of resource consumption patterns in an automated environment including detecting variance in resource consumption

An automated environment can monitor its resource consumption at the environment level and detect anomalies. Resource consumption can be monitored using a sparse set of sensors that provide information about the total resource consumption of the automated environment. The sensor data can be analyzed together with information about a behavioral routine of users in the automated environment to define a baseline resource consumption pattern. Once a baseline resource consumption pattern is established, anomalies in resource consumption can be detected and reported to users.

POWER EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT DEVICE, POWER EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND POWER EXCHANGE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

A power exchange management device includes: a power consumer service processor that receives bid solicitation information from a power consumer, the bid solicitation information being for soliciting exchange of power; a prosumer service processor that publicizes a bid solicitation condition on a terminal device of a prosumer on the basis of the bid solicitation information and receives application information responding to the bid solicitation information from the terminal device of the prosumer; a prosumer power transmission information acquirer that acquires information about an amount of power transmitted to the grid by the power transmission facility of the prosumer by reverse power flow; and a target manager (24) that compares the acquired amount of transmitted power with a target value set on the basis of the bid solicitation information and the application information and determines an incentive to be offered to the prosumer depending on a result of the comparison.

Method of computer-assisted determination of the usage of electrical energy produced by a power generation plant, particularly a renewable power generation plant

A method for computer-assisted determination of usage of electrical energy produced by a power generation plant such as a renewable power generation plant is provided. The method uses a plurality of neural networks having a different structure or being learned differently for calculating future energy amounts produced by a power generation plant. To do so, the energy outputs of the power generation plant forecasted by the plurality of the neural networks are used to build histograms. Based on the histograms, energy amounts for different confidence levels describing the likelihood of the availability of the energy amount are determined, and different uses are assigned to different energy amounts. Energy amounts having a higher likelihood of availability in the future are sold at higher prices than other energy amounts.

Storm confirmation and path prediction system

Disclosed are various embodiments for confirming a tornado event has contacted a ground surface and for generating a path prediction. Upon receipt of power outage alarms from metering devices, the Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) application can generate cluster areas based on the location of the metering devices. The AMI application can compare a cluster area to a tornado pattern to determine if the cluster area has experienced a tornado event. The AMI application can determine a speed and a direction of the tornado event based on the location and a time stamp of a power outage associated with the metering devices in the cluster areas.
