SINGLE POINT GRADIOMETER
A gradiometer includes a at least one magnet attached to a beam. The magnet moves in response to a magnetic force. A sensing element is configured to measure movement or deflection of the beam or magnet. The gradiometer is configured to determine a gradient of a magnetic field acting on the first magnet based on movement of the magnet. The gradiometer can further measure higher order gradients.
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for weight detection
Apparatuses, systems, and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide for improved sensor devices. An example sensor device includes a magnet mounting tube and a magnet supported within the magnet mounting tube. The sensor device includes a sensor mounting tube that receives at least a portion of the magnet mounting tube and supported magnet therein. The sensor device includes a magnetic sensor affixed to the sensor mounting tube. The sensor device includes a spring positioned around the magnet mounting tube and the sensor mounting tube such that the magnet and the magnetic sensor are surrounded by the spring. In an instance in which a load is applied to either a first end or second end of the spring, the magnet mounting tube translates relative the sensor mounting tube so as to induce a change in magnetic flux identified by the magnetic sensor indicative of a weight of the load.
Assembly and method for determining the strength of a magnetic stray field
An assembly includes a permanent magnet generating a magnetic field. The permanent magnet is arranged on the rotary member and generates a magnetic field perpendicular to an axis of rotation. A first channel has a first magnetic sensing element centered on the axis of rotation, the first channel providing a first angular data. A second channel has a second magnetic sensing element centered on the axis of rotation, the second channel providing a second angular data. The second magnetic sensing element is spaced from the first magnetic sensing element. Each of the first magnetic sensing element and the second magnetic sensing element have three voltage dividers. A processor computes a magnetic stray field component orthogonal to the magnetic field by comparing a first field strength based on the first angular data with the second field strength based on the second angular data.
MAGNETIC SENSOR
Reduction of the S/N in an output from a magnetic sensor using the magnetic impedance effect is suppressed. A magnetic sensor 1 is provided with a sensitive element 31 including: plural soft magnetic material layers 105; and a nonmagnetic amorphous metal layer 106 provided between the plural soft magnetic material layers 105, wherein the soft magnetic material layers 105 facing each other with the nonmagnetic amorphous metal layer 106 interposed therebetween are antiferromagnetically coupled to sense a magnetic field by a magnetic impedance effect.
MAGNET ARRANGEMENT FOR GENERATING A SELECTION MAGNETIC FIELD, APPARATUS WITH A MAGNET ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR GENERATING A SELECTION MAGNETIC FIELD
A magnet arrangement for generating a selection magnetic field with a gradient and a field-free region in a sample volume includes: a Maxwell magnet system with two ring magnets, which are arranged in coaxial fashion and at a distance from one another on a common Z-axis extending through the sample volume, a focus field coil arrangement with at least one focus field coil pair for displacing the field-free region within the sample volume, and a drive coil for generating an MPI drive field. The magnet arrangement comprises a quadrupole magnet system with at least one quadrupole ring for generating a quadrupole magnetic field, the quadrupole magnet system being arranged coaxially with respect to the Maxwell magnet system. Using the magnet arrangement according to the invention, it is possible to switch between a selection magnet field with a field-free point and a field-free line without undesirably increasing the field gradient.

A magnetic localization system including a magnetic field generator that generates an alternating magnetic field with a maintained frequency; and a receiver comprising: a DC magnetometer to sense a local magnetic field, at least in part due to the generated magnetic field; and at least one processor that calculates a six-degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) position and orientation of the receiver relative to the generator, based on the sensed magnetic field and the maintained frequency, and optionally based on the momentary phase of the generated field. Optionally, the generator includes an actuator that applies a rotational motion; at least one magnet rotating about a first axis by the actuator; a magnetometer to sense a momentary rotation phase of the at least one magnet; and a controller to maintain a desired rotation frequency of the at least one magnet. Optionally, the generator communicates the maintained rotation frequency and optionally the sensed momentary phase.
