Apparatus, system and method of angle of departure (AOD) estimation
Devices and methods of estimating the AoD of a STA are generally described. The STA receives and stores an association between tone and transmission angle for each tone transmitted by an AP in different angles. The association indicates that, for each angle, a tone transmitted in the angle is unique. The STA detects a symbol transmitted on each tone, determines the strength and timing of the tone and estimates the AoD based on the association and either or both the strength and timing. Each tone may have multiple symbols and/or each angle multiple tones whose characteristics are averaged to determine the appropriate characteristic of the particular tone or angle. The position of the STA is calculated from the AoD of one or more APs.
Passive entry/passive start systems and methods for vehicles
A sensor is configured to receive connection information from a portable device via a communication gateway in a vehicle and to communicate with a portable device using impulse radio (IR) ultra-wide band (UWB) communication based on the connection information. A location of the portable device is determined based on ranging using IR UWB communication.

Positioning method and device
A positioning method and a device, related to the communications field. In a 5G NR system, UE may be positioned only by measuring an uplink angle of arrival. The method includes: obtaining, by a location management function network element, a positioning measurement parameter set, where the positioning measurement parameter set at least includes at least two uplink angles of arrival that are obtained by measuring a reference signal sent by a terminal device; and determining, by the location management function network element, a location of the terminal device based on the at least two uplink angles of arrival in the positioning measurement parameter set.

CONSTRAINTS ON A SOURCE REFERENCE SIGNAL FOR QUASI-COLLOCATION TIMING REFERENCE OF A POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNAL
Disclosed are techniques related to wireless communications. In an aspect, a network entity determines whether a source reference signal transmitted from a first transmission-reception point (TRP) is a quasi-collocation (QCL) source of a target reference signal transmitted from a second TRP based, at least in part, on a first bandwidth (BW) portion occupied by the source reference signal and a second BW portion occupied by the target reference signal, the first BW portion having a first start frequency and a first BW size and the second BW portion having a second start frequency and a second BW size, and configures a user equipment (UE) with the source reference signal as the QCL source of the target reference signal when it is so determined.
SIGNALING DETAILS FOR TIMING ERROR GROUP (TEG) REPORTING
Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network entity, a request to provide a UE transmit (Tx) timing error group (TEG) report for an uplink-only positioning procedure, transmits one or more uplink sounding reference signal (UL-SRS) resources of at least one UL-SRS resource set during the uplink-only positioning procedure, and transmits the UE Tx TEG report to the network entity, the UE Tx TEG report including at least one UE Tx TEG associated with the transmission of the one or more UL-SRS resources of the at least one UL-SRS resource set, the at least one UE Tx TEG indicating that transmit timing errors of the transmission of the one or more UL-SRS resources of the at least one UL-SRS resource set are within a margin.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF RESILIENT ULTRA WIDE BAND TARGET LOCALIZATION FOR A VEHICLE
A method and system of resilient UWB target localization for a vehicle are provided. The system comprises a UWB tag arranged to be mobile and trackable by way of a sensor signal and at least three UWB anchors. Each anchor is in communication with the tag. The system further comprises a gateway in communication with the anchors. The gateway comprises an ECU arranged to receive sensor signals from UWB anchors. The ECU comprises a preprocessing module, a clustering module, and a Bayesian module. The preprocessing module is arranged to align sensor signals at an aligned timestamp to define aligned data. The clustering module is arranged to cluster points of intersections, defining a sensed location for each cluster. The Bayesian module is arranged to determine a real-time location of the tag based on a Bayesian probability function to match the sensed location with a predicted location of the tag.
Fingerprinting enhancement with multi-band AoA measurements
A method and a radio access device for performing the method for positioning of a target station (STA) by a radio access device. The method receives sounding feedback, from a target station (STA), for each of a plurality of subbands in response to sending a sounding signal, the sounding feedback comprising channel quality information for each subband of the plurality of subbands. The method calculates an angle-of-arrival (AoA) characteristic from the sounding feedback for at least a subset of the plurality of subbands and maps the AoA characteristics of the at least the subset of the plurality of subbands to a fingerprint in a fingerprint reference map. The method then determines the location of the target STA based on at least the fingerprint.
