Measurement device and measurement probe

A measurement device includes a sensing portion and a measuring portion. The sensing portion contains at least a fluorescent material whose emitting of fluorescent light ceases due to an action of a radioactive beam. The measuring portion measures a radiation quantity of the radioactive beam, with which the sensing portion is irradiated, based on an amount of decrease in the intensity of the fluorescent light emitted by the fluorescent material contained in the sensing portion when the radioactive beam acts on at least a portion of the fluorescent material. The fluorescent light is emitted due to irradiation of the fluorescent material by an excitation source.

Stacked assembly of 2D radiochromic dosimeters to provide 3D dosimetric data

The invention relates to a polymeric dosimetric sheet with a thickness of 0.8 to 10.0 mm which contains a radiochromic dye and other additives and which reacts with x-ray or other ionizing radiation to form a stable color. The invention also relates to a stack of the dosimetric sheets which constitute a three-dimensional dosimeter. Upon irradiation, the sheet stack captures the radiation field of an applied radiation treatment plan. The irradiated sheet stack is disassembled and scanned with readily available devices to afford an array of two-dimensional images which can verify the treatment plan throughout the entire target volume by computerized methods.

Slow neutron chemical dosimeter using Cr(VI)—Gd mixture

Neutron dosimetry is performed using a water-based chemical dosimeter measurement of radiation-induced reduction of hexavalent Cr (VI) to trivalent Cr (III) in the presence of sodium formate at pH 9.2. Neutron absorbance material (Gd-157) increases the neutron interaction with the dosimeter. When a monoenergetic beam with 0.025 eV energy was used as a thermal neutron source 1 mol/dm.sup.3 of Gadolinium gave the best outcome while surrounding the dosimeter with 1 cm Gadolinium sheets. The dosimeter was giving acceptable readings when using thermal neutrons.

A system for the collection and isolation of photons from multiple photon sources is provided that images individual photon sources onto individual optical fibers. The collected photons can then be directed to one or more photon detectors. The present invention is particularly applicable to a qubit state detection system for the detection of individual qubit states.

GEL DOSIMETER FOR MEASURING RADIATION DOSE

A gel dosimeter for radiation dosimetry includes a radically polymerizable monomer, a gelator, glucose, and glucose oxidase. Although a conventional polymer gel dosimeter contains a deoxygenating agent such as tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium chloride, such a deoxygenating agent fails to exhibit sufficient effects. Thus, a more effective deoxygenation treatment technique has been required for a gel dosimeter.
