Each of the capacitive covers are electrically insulated from one another.

An object-characteristic determination device includes a calculation unit and a determination unit. The calculation unit calculates a first feature value and a second feature value differing from the first feature value according to a first signal at a first frequency and a second signal at a second frequency. The first signal and the second signal are received by a reception unit after passing through the object. The first feature value and the second feature value represent features of the first signal and the second signal. The determination unit determines a property of the object on the basis of a difference in the first feature values of the first signal and a difference in the second feature values of the second signal, a relationship between a plurality of properties of the object, and a plurality of differences in the first feature values and a plurality of differences in the second feature values.

A system for measuring moisture in soil below the ground surface comprises at least one passive microwave sensor device configured to measure natural thermal emissions from the soil and output a data signal and a processing circuit operably coupled to the at least one passive microwave sensor wherein the processing circuit is configured to receive the data signal and compile a soil moisture profile. The system further comprises a wide-band antenna wherein the at least one passive microwave sensor is located therein and an elongate horizontal mounting frame extending between first and second ends wherein the first end is securable to a mobile agricultural device and wherein the wide-band antenna is secured to the second end so as to position the wide-band antenna at a distance above the ground surface.

An electromagnetic exploration method using a full-coverage anti-interference artificial source, comprising the steps of: (1) determining the scope and location of the measuring area; (2) field-exploring to determine the location of the transmitting source and the angle of the transmitting antenna; (3) calculating the maximum polarization direction angle of the electric field generated by the antenna at each measuring point; (4) arranging electric field sensors according to the polarization directions; (5) calculating the apparent resistivity of each measuring point. The method of the present disclosure obtains the earth resistivity using the reliable data with high signal-to-noise ratio. The field construction is flexible and convenient, the construction efficiency is high and the cost is low. The present disclosure provides a new development direction for the electromagnetic exploration.
ELECTRIC CUTTING TOOL WITH AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY STOP
A safety cutting device including: an electrically conductive cutting member; a motor for actuating the cutting member; a handle for gripping the tool; and an emergency stop device that is sensitive to a user making contact with the cutting member. The tool further includes: at least a first and at least a second manual contact electrode; an electrical monitoring circuit having the first manual contact electrode and the cutting member; a device for measuring a monitoring voltage between the cutting member and the second manual contact electrode; a comparator for comparing at least one electrical monitoring characteristic with an electrical threshold characteristic, the comparator driving the emergency stop device. The safety cutting device is applicable to secateurs and shears in particular.
