The present invention belongs to the field of display technology, and particularly relates to a backlight module and a display device. The backlight module comprises a reflecting layer and a diffuser plate arranged opposite to each other, wherein a light source is arranged between the reflecting layer and the diffuser plate, a light-exiting surface of the light source faces the reflecting layer, and light emitted from the light source is reflected by the reflecting layer to reach the diffuser plate and exits from the diffuser plate after being diffused therein. By inversely arranging an LED light source or other light sources between the diffuser plate and the reflecting layer in the backlight module, a thickness of the whole backlight module can be smaller under a condition of fixed light mixing distance, the emergent light from the backlight module is more uniform, and the cost is reduced.

In one embodiment, an image projection apparatus includes a light pipe coupled to a first mounting plate, and a frustrated prism assembly, one or more digital micro-mirror devices, one or more beamsplitters, and one or more projection optics, which are coupled to a second mounting plate. The first and second mounting plates are coplanar, such that the image projection apparatus is compact and may be aligned in a system having a plurality of image projection apparatuses, each of which is easily removable and replaceable.

An illuminating device may include a light source, an optical unit configured to adjust direction of light from the light source, a reflector, a light pipe, and an exciter. The light pipe may receive light having a first wavelength from the optical unit and direct the light having the first wavelength onto the exciter. The exciter may convert the light having the first wavelength into light having the second wavelength and reflects the light having the second wavelength to the reflector. A circumferential wall of the light pipe is configured to reflect the light having the first wavelength and to transmit the light having the second wavelength.

Generally, the present disclosure provides for a light engine, in particular a rack-mounted light engine that can be used in a lighting system. The rack mounted light engine can be positioned in an electronics component rack such a light distribution system using hollow light ducts may distribute the light over a large area, such as a data center. Such a light distribution can use a generated light more efficiently by directing the light to the fronts or backs of the electronics cabinet, rather than for general room illumination.
