OPHTHALMIC APPARATUS WITH CORRECTIVE MERIDIANS HAVING EXTENDED TOLERANCE BAND
20170276962 · 2017-09-28 ·

The embodiments disclosed herein include improved toric lenses and other ophthalmic apparatuses (including, for example, contact lens, intraocular lenses (IOLs), and the like) that includes one or more refractive angularly-varying phase members, each varying depths of focus of the apparatus so as to provide an extended tolerance to misalignments of the apparatus. Each refractive angularly-varying phase member has a center at a first meridian (e.g., the intended correction meridian) that directs light to a first point of focus (e.g., at the retina of the eye). At angular positions nearby to the first meridian, the refractive angularly-varying phase member directs light to points of focus of varying depths and nearby to the first point of focus such that rotational offsets of the multi-zonal lens body from the center of the first meridian directs light from the nearby points of focus to the first point of focus.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR STEREOTACTIC RADIOSURGERY

Methods, devices, and systems can be used to improve accuracy and precision of stereotactic radiosurgery. For example, this document provides methods and materials for using a fiducial marker device for stereotactic radiosurgery of ocular disorders. The fiducial marker device of the invention enables positional tracking of the target tissue during the stereotactic radiosurgery procedure despite occasional movement of the eye being subjected to stereotactic radiosurgery.

ADHESIVE OPTICAL FILM TO CONVERT AN EYEGLASS LENS TO A PROGRESSIVE LENS
20170269379 · 2017-09-21 · ·

Apparatus and methods are described, including a corrective optical film for converting a corrective single-focal lens to a multi-focal lens and/or a progressive lens. A thickness and/or a curvature of the corrective optical film is different in different regions of the corrective optical film, such that the corrective optical film is configured, upon being adhered to the single-focal lens, to change a focal length of the single-focal lens differently in different regions of the single-focal lens. Other applications are also described.

LIGHT REFLECTING LENS

A light reflecting lens includes a lens body, a light diffusion layer, and a light-transmitting cover layer. The lens body has a front surface and a back surface opposite to each other. The light diffusion layer includes spread aggregates formed by spraying a dispersion of light-transmitting resinous micro-beads and is formed on one of the front and back surfaces of the lens body. The light-transmitting cover layer is formed on the light diffusion layer. The spread aggregates have a mean aggregate size such that the light reflecting lens has a haze not larger than 3% and a transmittance not less than 3%.

Apparatus with timed color change indication

An apparatus with time controlled color change indication comprises an apparatus includes a disposable, limited or restricted use product and an oxygen sensing color changeable dye disposed on a portion of the apparatus, the dye being translucent or having a first color upon application and for a defined time thereafter and the dye changing color after exposure to oxygen for the defined time. For example, a packaging for containing a product for human consumption has a portion with a color changeable dye disposed thereon. The dye changes color after being exposed to oxygen for a controlled and predetermined period of time indicating that the product for human consumption should no longer be consume or has decreased in freshness, quality of taste or potency.

METHOD FOR STORING INFORMATION ON A SPECTACLES LENS, SPECTACLES LENS BLANK OR SPECTACLES LENS SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCT

Information is stored in an optical element in the form of a glass or plastic body embodied as spectacles lens, spectacles lens blank or spectacles lens semi-finished product. The information in the form of data is stored on or in the glass or plastic body by creating at least one marking with a marking system. The marking can be read by a reading apparatus. The marking system has an interface for reading information individualizing the optical element. The marking is created permanently by the marking system on or in the optical element at a definition point of a local body-specific coordinate system set by two points on or in the optical element. In this body coordinate system, the manufacturer specifies the position of the lens horizontal and/or the far and/or the near and/or the prism reference point.

EYE MOUNTABLE DEVICE AND FLEXIBLE ASSEMBLY FOR FABRICATION THEREOF
20170255025 · 2017-09-07 ·

Techniques and mechanisms for fabrication of an eye mountable device. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes two curved lens portions and a flexible arm structure that extends between, and is anchored to, each of the two curved lens portions. The eye mountable device is formed at least in part by manipulation of the curved lens portions using the arm structure. Flexibility of the arm structure accommodates positioning of one curved lens portion to overlap the other curved lens portion. A lens of the eye mountable device is formed by the curved lens portions. In another embodiment, an enclosure formed by the lens has disposed therein an accommodation actuator.
