Spectacle lens and method, in particular 3D printing method, for the production thereof
A spectacle lens has, starting from the object-sided front surface of the spectacle lens to the opposite rear-side of the spectacle lens, at least a) one component A including at least one functional layer F.sub.A and/or an ultrathin glass, b) one component B including at least one polymer material and, c) one component C, including at least one functional layer F and/or an ultrathin glass. A method, in particular a 3D printing method, for producing the spectacle lens is also disclosed.
METHODS OF INCREASED CONTACT LENS ROTATION AND RELATED CONTACT LENSES
A contact lens that is configured to rotate when the lens is being worn by a lens wearer, methods of manufacturing such a lens, and methods of using such a lens to provide a rotationally varying treatment to a lens wearer are described. The lens includes an optic zone and a peripheral zone surrounding the optic zone. The peripheral zone has a variation in thickness configured to promote rotation of the lens.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AN OPHTHALMIC LENS
Methods of manufacturing an ophthalmic lens are described. The methods include a step of providing an ophthalmic lens; and a step of providing a photocurable film. The methods use a digital light projections system to photocure at least one region of the film to produce at least one photocured gradient index refractive element. The film is applied to a surface of the lens.
OPHTHALMIC LENSES HAVING A PHOTOPOLYMER LAYER WITH GRIN ELEMENTS
Ophthalmic lenses are described that have a layer, which has a base refractive index, provided on a surface of the lens. The layer includes at least one gradient index optical element. The ophthalmic lens may be a spectacle lens or a contact lens.
FILMS HAVING GRIN ELEMENTS FOR APPLICATION TO SPECTACLES OR OTHER OPHTHALMIC LENSES
A film for applying to an ophthalmic lens is described. The film, or the combination of the film and the ophthalmic lens are designed to prevent or slow the development or progression of myopia. The film has a base refractive index and includes at least one gradient index optical element. Ophthalmic lenses, such as spectacle lenses and contact lenses, that include the films are also described.
Prescription optical element for selected head mounted device
A distortion profile is based on user lens data and a selected optical-mechanical profile of a selected head mounted device. The user lens data is associated with prescription lenses worn by the user. A prescription optical layer is fabricated based on the distortion profile for the selected head mounted device.
Ophthalmic Lenses and Methods for Correcting, Slowing, Reducing, and/or Controlling the Progression of Myopia
An ophthalmic lens comprising a base lens configured to direct light to a first image plane; and a plurality of light modulating cells. One or more of the plurality of light modulating cells refract light to a second image plane different from the first image plane and/or one or more of a plurality of light modulating cells refract light to a third image plane different from the first and second image planes, In some embodiments, at least one of the plurality of light modulating cells is configured to refract light to at least two (e.g., 2, 3, or 4) image planes, different from the first image plane.
MULTI-SPECTRAL AND MULTI-FOCAL CONTROL OF MYOPIA
A method of improving emmetropization or slowing myopia development in an eye is provided that involves adjusting the vision in the eye to achieve one or both of increase the distance between the long-wavelength focal plane and the short wavelength focal plane; and position the short wavelength focal plane closer to the cornea than it would normally be located. Multi-spectral devices (e.g., lenses and spectacles) are provided that are useful to improve emmetropization or preventing or reducing the development of myopia, which are optionally multi-focal as well.
LENS ELEMENT
A lens element intended to be worn in front of an eye of a person including a refraction area having a first refractive power based on a prescription for correcting an abnormal refraction of said eye of the person and a second refractive power different from the first refractive power, and a plurality of at least three optical elements, at least one optical element having an optical function of not focusing an image on the retina of the eye so as to slow down the progression of the abnormal refraction of the eye.
CONCEALING NON-OPTICALLY TRANSPARENT COMPONENTS OF OPTICAL ARTICLES
The disclosure relates to a method of concealing a non-optically transparent component of an optical article. The method comprises—providing (S7) an optical article comprising: —an optical lens comprising an eyeball side facing an eye of a person when the optical article is worn by the person and an object side opposing the eyeball side, the optical lens comprising on the object side an eyewear shape section extending from an outer contour of the optical lens to an inner contour, and—a non-optically transparent component extending at least partly over the eyewear shape section, and—concealing (S8) the non-optically transparent component by covering at least part of the eyewear shape section of the optical lens using an opaque material.
