Lens cover-based image capture device operation
10999504 · 2021-05-04 · ·

An image capture device may include one or more optical elements. One or more lens covers may be used to cover the optical element(s). Usage of the lens cover(s) with respect to the optical element(s) may be determined. The operation of the image capture device may be changed based on whether the lens cover(s) are on or off the optical element(s).

MAGNETOMETER-BASED LENS CAP DETECTION
20210132467 · 2021-05-06 · ·

A video system includes a camera, at least one magnet providing a magnetic field, a magnetometer, and a processing system. The magnetometer is configured to measure the magnetic field to generate a magnetometer readout. The magnetic field is altered when a lens cap blocks a view of the camera. The processing system is configured to detect, based on the magnetometer readout of the magnetic field, whether the lens cap is blocking the view of the camera.

Mobile device case having a plurality of lens covers biased in a lens covering position
10928705 · 2021-02-23 ·

A mobile device case has a first lens cover and a second lens cover. The first lens cover and second lens cover are each moveable between a first position and a second position. A coupling connects the first lens cover to the second lens cover. When the first lens cover is in the first position and the second lens cover is in the first position, movement of the first lens cover from the first position to the second position, simultaneously and automatically moves the second lens cover from the first position to the second position. When the first lens cover is in the second position and unlocked, and the second lens cover is in the second position, a biasing force automatically moves the first lens cover into the first position from the second position, and the second lens cover, by way of the coupling, automatically and simultaneously moves into the first position. The first lens cover automatically locks in place by a locking construction when the first lens cover is moved into the second position from the first position.

Camera cover

A permanent camera cover is disclosed herein. The camera cover includes a base attachable to a mobile device having a camera, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The base includes an aperture to permit the camera a clear view path. A cover is engageable with the base. The cover may also have an exterior decorative covering that may be removed and/or replaced.

Lens Selector

A lens selector for selectively exposing one camera lens and covering other camera lenses of a cell phone or the like is shown and described. The lens selector comprises a base which grips the cell phone and a lens cover movable between two or more positions. The lens cover may slide along the base when moving between positions. An arm resiliently biased into an engaged positions may lock the lens cover into a selected position on the base. The lens selector may substantially cover that side of the cell phone having lenses, and may grip edges of the cell phone. The lens selector may include a socket for centering an associated cell phone with respect to an optical device such as a spotting scope, so that the cell phone may capture images visible through the scope.

Retrofit Spying-out Protection
20210215997 · 2021-07-15 ·

Implemented is a retrofit spying-out protection of an electronic device, in particular a smartphone, which is provided with a miniature digital camera having a camera lens, composed of a lens cover of a camera lens, which is movable under a film (having a through-recess. Said retrofit spying-out protection insignificantly enlarges the spatial volume of a device and, in addition, can easily be placed in and out of operation, which is achieved in that the film covers the total area of one side of the device and is equipped with an undercut around the edge of the through-recess, said undercut widening towards the surface of the device. The lens cover rests on the surface of the electronic device with a contact surface facing away from the access surface, extends with lateral flattened portions under the undercut and is held in a form-fitting manner on the surface by the film.

SWIVEL COVERS

Examples disclosed herein provide a cover for obscuring an opening found on a housing of a computing device. As an example, the housing includes a bezel that includes the opening extending through the bezel. The cover includes a pin disposed on a first end of the cover, wherein the pin is insertable into a hole along the bezel. The housing includes features to swivel a second end of the cover opposite the first end in either a first or second position. In the first position, the second end is to obscure a viewing portion of the opening, and in the second position, the second end is to expose the viewing portion.

Privacy shutter for computer camera with finger grip

A privacy shutter selectively covers and exposes a camera lens on a computer device. The privacy shutter has a frame with an aperture and a screen carried by the frame and slidable in the aperture. The screen moves between open and closed positions. A fingertip grip has a low-profile dome coupled to the screen.

Domed protective cap for camera lenses and other tubular shaped objects
10890826 · 2021-01-12 ·

A removable and flexible protective cap that is configured and dimensioned to stretch and slip over fixed camera lenses, detachable camera lenses and other tubular-shaped objects. The protective cap fits on objects having different diameters. The protective cap further includes integrated bumpers to provide improved protection against impacts. The protective cap has a memory such that when it is removed from a lens, it returns to its original shape. The protective cap may include a lint-resistant feature to prevent lint and dust from adhering to the cap. The protective cap is particularly suited for lenses used in photography, videography, hunting, military, and astronomy. The protective cap is also suited for use on non-optical devices, including gun barrels. In addition, the protective cap is suitable for use on other tubular-shaped objects.

LENS CAP FOR OPTICAL PROJECTORS
20200409236 · 2020-12-31 ·

Various embodiments described herein relates to a lens cap, adapted to be mechanically engaged over a lens assembly of an optical projector. The lens cap, as described herein, is adapted for vignetting a light pattern projected by the optical projector. The lens cap includes a front surface and a back surface, where on at least a portion of the front surface, an elliptically shaped aperture is defined. In this aspect, the elliptically shaped aperture is chamfered towards its peripheral ends, as the elliptically shaped aperture extends out from the back surface of the lens cap towards the front surface of lens cap. Also, the elliptically shaped aperture is defined on the lens cap such that, a center axis of the aperture is offset to a central axis of the lens cap, so as to match an offset at which the light pattern is projected by the optical projector.
