YA/YB>0.75, and a surface potential difference C in a rubbing test using the inorganic fine particle A and the binder resin is −70 V to +70 V.

An electrostatic image developing toner includes a toner particle, an external additive A, and an external additive B. At least the external additive A is present on the surface of the toner particles. At least the external additive B is present on the external additive A. The number of peaks of the external additive B on the external additive A is 5 or more and 100 or less per 30 μm peripheral length of the toner particle, the peaks having a height from the surface of the toner particle of 80 nm or more and 250 nm or less.

The doctor member includes a regulating portion regulating an amount of the developer home on the developing sleeve to be a predetermined amount. The regulating portion is disposed with a first distance from the developing sleeve. The developing sleeve is disposed with a second distance from an image hearer, and when the developing sleeve bearing the predetermined amount of developer passes a vicinity of the image bearer, a value obtained by dividing the predetermined amount by the second distance is less than a threshold of occurrence of adherence of the developer to the developing sleeve.

At least the external additive A is deposited on the surfaces of the toner particles. At least the external additive B is deposited on the external additive A. The external additive B includes an aggregate of two or more particles. The coverage of the toner particles with the external additive B is 3% by area or more with respect to the total surface area of the toner particles.

A toner comprising a toner particle comprising a binder resin and organosilicon polymer particles on a surface of the toner particle, wherein the binder resin comprising an amorphous resin and a crystalline polyester resin, an absolute value |SP.sub.cpes−SP.sub.si| of a difference between an SP value (SP.sub.si) of the organosilicon polymer particles and an SP value (SP.sub.cpes) of the crystalline polyester resin is not more than 2.00 (cal/cm.sup.3).sup.1/2, and an amount of adsorbed water in the organosilicon polymer particles at a temperature of 30° C. and a humidity of 80% RH is not more than 20 mg/g.

The external additive B is an aggregate of two or more particles. The toner particles have an average circularity of 0.8 or more and 0.94 or less. The amount of the release agent present at the surface of the toner particles is 5 area % or more and 30 area % or less based on the total surface area of the toner particles.

Provided is a toner including a binder resin, a release agent, and a charge-controlling agent, wherein the toner includes toner particles having particle diameters of 3 micrometers or smaller, among the toner particles having particle diameters of 3 micrometers or smaller, a proportion of the toner particles having an average circularity of 0.70 or greater but 0.85 or less in all of the toner particles is 10% by number or greater but less than 20% by number and a proportion of the toner particles having an average circularity of less than 0.70 in all of the toner particles is 10% by number or less.
