20200393776 · 2020-12-17 ·

Described herein is a printed product and a process for preparing a printed product. The process may comprise providing a printed substrate comprising an electrostatic ink layer on a surface of a substrate, the electrostatic ink layer comprising a first thermoplastic resin and a pigment; and electrostatically printing an electrostatic overcoat composition onto the printed substrate, the electrostatic overcoat composition comprising a second thermoplastic resin and a wax. Also described herein is an electrostatic overcoat composition, as well as an ink set comprising an electrostatic ink composition and an electrostatic overcoat composition.

Liquid electrophotographic adhesive composition

Herein is described a liquid electrophotographic adhesive composition comprising a thermoplastic resin, a moisture activatable adhesive, and a liquid carrier.

LIQUID DEVELOPER AND IMAGE-FORMING METHOD

A binder resin of toner particles in a liquid developer contains a resin having a monomer unit derived from at least one polymerizable monomer selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylates with an alkyl group having 18 to 36 carbon atoms, and the binder resin has an SP value higher by 1.5 (J/cm.sup.3).sup.0.5 or more than the SP value of a carrier liquid.

FOG DEVELOPMENT FOR DIGITAL OFFSET PRINTING APPLICATIONS

Ink-based digital printing systems useful for ink printing include a photoreceptor layer configured to receive a layer of liquid immersion fluid. The liquid immersion fluid includes dampening fluid, dispersed gas particles, and charge directors that impart charge to the solid particles. The photoreceptor surface is charged to a uniform potential, and selectively discharged using an ROS according to image data to form an electrostatic latent image. The charged liquid immersion fluid adheres to portions of the photoreceptor surface according to the electrostatic latent image to form a fountain solution image. The fluid portion of the fountain solution image can be partially transferred to an imaging member and/or transfer member to form a dampening fluid image, either or both of which may be electrically biased. The dampening fluid image is inked on the transfer member, and the resulting ink image transferred to a print substrate.

ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC ACTIVE INK COMPOSITIONS

The present disclosure relates to an electrophotographic active ink composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer comprising a copolymer of an olefin and acrylic acid and/or metacrylic acid; active photovoltaic material comprising electron donor material and electron acceptor material; a charge adjuvant, and a liquid carrier.

IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming system includes an image forming unit including a first photosensitive member, a first developing unit, a second photosensitive member, a second developing unit, a third photosensitive member, a third developing unit, a fourth photosensitive member, and a fourth developing unit, a varnish applying unit; an irradiation unit; and a controller configured to control image formation by the image forming unit to form a black image, on which the varnish is superimposed, with the yellow toner, the magenta toner, and the cyan toner.
