An image reading device includes a document table, an image reading unit, a reading unit moving part, a cursor, and a cursor moving part. The reading unit is disposed below the document table, and scans the placed document in a main-scanning direction to read an image. The reading unit moving part moves the reading unit in a sub-scanning direction crossing the main-scanning direction and in an opposite direction. To the cursor, a reading start side edge of the document placed on the document table in the sub-scanning direction is abutted. The cursor moving part moves the cursor along the sub-scanning direction in a reciprocating manner. The cursor moving part moves the cursor from a reference position of the reading unit in the opposite direction in conjunction with a movement of the reading unit from the home position in the opposite direction.

A multifunction printer includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet, an image reading unit configured to read an image of a document, an operation panel configured to receive an operation, a lower housing configured to house the image forming unit, an upper housing configured to house the image reading unit, the upper housing being located above the lower housing, a panel housing configured to house the operation panel, the panel housing being located above the lower housing and located in front of the upper housing, a connection part connecting the lower housing to the upper housing, and a support part configured to support the panel housing, the support part being located between the lower housing and the panel housing in an upward-and-downward direction, the support part being located in front of the upper housing and the connection part.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a sensor unit, and a control unit executing a first stop processing of stopping conveyance of a sheet by the conveyance unit when, until a threshold value time has elapsed after one of a first sensor and a second sensor detected the sheet, the other one of them does not detect the sheet, and a speed detection processing of measuring a speed of the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit based on a detection result of the sensor unit. The control unit sets the threshold value time to a first time when the speed of the sheet measured in the speed detection processing is a first speed, and sets the threshold value time to a second time that is longer than the first time when the speed of the sheet is a second speed that is slower than the first speed.

A document conveying device includes an operation device, a document loading tray, a document detection sensor, a document ejection tray, a feed roller, a document conveying mechanism, an elevating mechanism, and a controller. Upon passage of a first waiting time from when the document detection sensor has detected any sheet of original document on the document loading tray, the controller allows the elevating mechanism to move the document loading tray to a standby position between upper and lower limit positions and stop the tray at the standby position. Upon acceptance of an instruction to read original document through the operation device, the controller allows the feed roller to feed a sheet of original document on the document loading tray, allows the document conveying mechanism to convey the fed sheet to a reading position, and allows the elevating mechanism to move up the document loading tray to the upper limit position.

A conveyance apparatus includes a sheet conveyance path, a delivery port, and a delivery upper surface portion. A sheet is conveyed on the sheet conveyance path. The sheet conveyed on the sheet conveyance path is delivered to the delivery port. The delivery upper surface portion is continuous with an upper surface of the sheet conveyance path and constitutes an upper surface of the delivery port. The delivery upper surface portion includes an upstream upper surface portion and a downstream upper surface portion. The upstream upper surface portion is located on an upstream side in a direction in which the sheet is conveyed. The downstream upper surface portion is located on a downstream side in the direction in which the sheet is conveyed. The downstream upper surface portion is located in a lower position than the upstream upper surface portion.

A printing system including a jam detection section that detects occurrence of a jam as a state in which a sheet is jammed, a guide display section that displays a guide of a procedure for removing a sheet in response to occurrence of the detected jam, and a plurality of units associated with a plurality of types of functions, respectively. An operation log of firmware that controls one unit is automatically saved. A setting of whether or not to automatically save a log when a jam has occurred is displayed. When occurrence of a jam is detected in a case where the automatic log saving is set, a controller causes a process for automatically saving an operation log of firmware to be executed, and a screen to be displayed on a display section for prompting a user to wait until the automatic saving process is terminated.

An image reading apparatus includes a transparent member having a placing surface on which a sheet is placed, a first abutment portion against which an edge portion of the sheet on a rear side in a front-rear direction abuts, a second abutment portion against which an edge portion of the sheet on one side in a left-right direction abuts, a first size indicator provided on a rear side with respect to the placing surface and indicates a size of the sheet in the left-right direction, a second size indicator provided on the one side with respect to the placing surface and indicates a size of the sheet in the front-rear direction, and a third size indicator provided on a front side with respect to the placing surface and includes a scale for measuring a length of the sheet in the left-right direction.

A document transport device includes a guide member that is disposed on one side of a transport path along which a document placed on a placing table is transported and that has a guide part formed to guide the document along the transport path, and to which at least one of a transport roll that transports the document along the transport path or a detection unit that detects a position of the placing table is attached, and an exterior cover that is attached to cover the guide member and has an exterior surface exposed to an outside.

An image forming apparatus to which a cartridge is removably attachable includes a rotary including a storage unit that stores developer supplied from the cartridge and a developing member that forms a developer image by developing an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member using the developer stored in the storage unit; a frame that accommodates the rotary; a moving device that moves the cartridge from an attachment position to a displaced position in a displacement direction; a controller that controls the moving device; and a document transporter that is rotatable above the frame and that transports a document sheet. An upstream end of the rotary in the displacement direction is defined as a rotary upstream end. A rotation center of the document transporter is located upstream of the rotary upstream end in the displacement direction.

An image forming apparatus to which a cartridge is removably attachable includes a storage unit that stores developer supplied from the cartridge, a developing member that forms a developer image by developing an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member using the developer stored in the storage unit, a frame that accommodates the cartridge, a moving device that moves a cartridge in a displacement direction from an attachment position toward a displaced position; a controller that controls the moving device, and a reading unit that moves between a closed position at which the reading unit covers the frame and an open position at which the reading unit is opened to expose the frame. When the cartridge is at the displaced position and when the reading unit is at the closed position, a cartridge downstream end is located downstream of a reading-unit downstream end in the displacement direction.
