An image forming apparatus includes a housing having an opening, a cover configured to open the opening in an open state and to close the opening in a close state, a photosensitive drum, a heater, a fan configured to force air out of the housing, and a controller. The cover in the open state is configured to allow a sheet with a toner image fixed thereon to be ejected through the opening. The heater is configured to heat a sheet to fix a toner image on the sheet, and is located between the cover in the close state and the photosensitive drum. During execution of a printing process, the controller is configured to cause the fan to rotate at a first speed if the cover is in the closed state, and to rotate at a second speed lower than the first speed if the cover is in the open state.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording medium, a first frame and a second frame configured to support the image forming unit, the first frame and the second frame being provided to sandwich the image forming unit, an outer casing member extending along a surface of the first frame configured to cover the first frame, and an electronic circuit substrate that is provided on a side opposite to the image forming unit via the surface of the first frame, and is provided between the first frame and the outer casing member, wherein the electronic circuit substrate extends in a direction crossing a surface of the outer casing member.

An image forming apparatus configured to perform simplex printing and duplex printing includes a recording medium ejection device, a suction duct, a blower, and a pair of rotating members. The recording medium ejection device includes a recording medium outlet through which a recording medium is ejected outside of the image forming apparatus and a recording medium reverse port through which a part of the recording medium is ejected to reverse the recording medium in the duplex printing. The suction duct includes a suction port to suck air. The blower is disposed in the suction duct and sucks air from the recording medium ejection device to the suction port. The pair of rotating members is disposed between the suction port and at least one of the recording medium outlet and the recording medium reverse port and reverses both sides of the recording medium in the duplex printing.

Various embodiments of an adapted cooling system for a printer are disclosed herein. The adapted cooling system includes a panel for installment along a housing of the printer and further includes a manifold that couples a more powerful fan to the printer.

An image forming apparatus includes a conveyance device, a fixing device and an air blower. The conveyance device conveys a medium along a conveyance guide. The fixing device fixes a toner image on the medium thermally by passing the medium between a fixing member and a pressing member which are rotated around axes. The air blower sucks air above the conveyance guide to attract the medium to the conveyance guide, and blows the sucked air to a pair of medium non-passing regions set on both end portions of at least the fixing member and the pressing member in the axial direction.

A developing device includes: a case in which a hollow transporting path is formed; a transporting member configured to transport a developer in the transporting path; a support portion fixed to an end portion of the case by a fastening member to support the transporting member at an end portion of the transporting path; and a cooling unit fixed by being sandwiched between the support portion and the case.

An image forming apparatus includes: a housing; a fixing device that is disposed in the housing and that heats an unfixed image made of developer to fix the unfixed image to a recording medium; an exhaust device having an air inlet through which air heated by the fixing device is sucked, an air outlet through which the air sucked through the air inlet is discharged from the housing, and a flow path portion having a flow path space through which the air flows from the air inlet to the air outlet; and a mesh member that is provided on the air inlet and that collects fine particles contained in the air that is sucked.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing; a fixing device that is disposed in the housing and that heats an unfixed image made of developer to fix the unfixed image to a recording medium; an exhaust device having an air inlet through which air heated by the fixing device is sucked, an air outlet through which the air sucked through the air inlet is discharged from the housing, a flow path portion having a flow path space through which the air flows from the air inlet to the air outlet, and an air flow generator that generates an exhaust air flow in the flow path space; and plural mesh members that are located in a region between and including the air inlet and the air outlet and arranged in a direction in which the air flows, the mesh members collecting fine particles contained in the air that is sucked.

A cooling assembly, and method, for an article being printed using a selective toner electrophotographic printing system is disclosed. The assembly includes a surface for delivering and returning cooling gas, the surface containing first plurality of elongate openings in communication with a cooling gas supply; and a second plurality elongate openings in communication with a cooling gas return; wherein the first plurality of elongate openings and second plurality of elongate openings are substantially parallel to one another and alternate with one another.

An image forming apparatus includes: a body of the image forming apparatus; a first inclined portion that is inclined upward from one side surface toward another side surface of the body of the image forming apparatus; a second inclined portion that is inclined downward from an inner end portion of the first inclined portion toward the one side surface; multiple cooled parts that are disposed in a space between the first inclined portion and the second inclined portion and that are disposed to be spaced from each other in a direction from the one side surface to the other side surface; a first wall member that is disposed above the first inclined portion and that has a first ventilation part; and a second wall member that is disposed below the second inclined portion and that has a second ventilation part.
