The opening and closing mechanism includes a plurality of shutter members configured to close the air blowing port in cooperation with each other.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body and a unit. The unit is detachably attached to the apparatus main body along one direction. The apparatus main body includes a main body side board and a main body side connector. The main body side connector is mounted on the main body side board. The unit includes a unit side board, a unit side connector, a supporting member and a biasing member. The unit side connector is mounted on the unit side board and fitted to the main body side connector from a first side in the one direction as the unit is attached to the apparatus main body. The supporting member supports the unit side board so as to be movable along the one direction. The biasing member biases the unit side board to a second side in the one direction.

An assembly removable structure includes an assembly including a connectable member and attached to and removed from a receiving member of an apparatus body in a first direction, a connection member disposed on the apparatus body to be movable forward and backward in a cross direction that crosses the first direction, a switch member operated independently of a lid member and switching the connection member between a first position and a second position, the lid member rendering the receiving member open and closed, a restricting member that moves with an operation from a restriction position, at which the restricting member restricts the assembly from being removed from the receiving member, to a release position, at which the restricting member releases the assembly, and a blocking device restricting an operation of moving the restricting member to the release position when the switch member is switched to the first position.

Provided is an inexpensive image forming apparatus that reduces wasteful operation and is capable of determining whether a fixing unit is attached properly. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming apparatus main body, and a fixing roller that fixes a pattern composed of toner on paper by heating when conveying the paper on which the pattern is formed, and uses a fixing unit that can be attached to and detached from the image forming apparatus main body. A temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the fixing roller is provided in the fixing unit. The image forming apparatus includes a control unit that, after the fixing unit is attached, determines whether or not the fixing unit is attached properly to the image forming apparatus main body according to a magnitude relationship between the temperature detected by the temperature sensor and a preset first threshold value.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing, an attachable and detachable device, a cover member, and a rotation angle restricting member. The housing has an opening and an attachment section. The attachable and detachable device is attachable to and detachable from an inside of the housing via the opening. The cover member is rotatably supported by the housing and closes or opens the opening. The rotation angle restricting member restricts an allowable rotation angle that indicates an angle at which the cover member is rotatable. The rotation angle restricting member is attachable to and detachable from the attachment section. The allowable rotation angle of the cover member is restricted when the rotation angle restricting member is attached to the attachment section. Restriction of the allowable rotation angle of the cover member is released when the rotation angle restricting member is detached from the attachment section.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body and a unit . The unit is detachably attached to the apparatus main body along one direction. The apparatus main body includes a main body side board and a main body side connector. The main body side connector is mounted on the main body side board. The unit includes a unit side board, a unit side connector, a supporting member and a biasing member. The unit side connector is mounted on the unit side board and fitted to the main body side connector from a first side in the one direction as the unit is attached to the apparatus main body. The supporting member supports the unit side board so as to be movable along the one direction. The biasing member biases the unit side board to a second side in the one direction.

An imaging device having a fuser and print engine architecture that enables complete interchangeability between fuser types with a common print engine. The imaging device has a frame configured to separately receive a first fuser assembly of a first fuser type and a second fuser assembly of a second fuser type different from the first fuser type. The first fuser assembly includes a first fuser frame having a first datum tab. The second fuser assembly includes a second fuser frame having a second datum tab. The frame of the imaging device has a datum aperture that is sized to receive the first datum tab that when inserted into the datum aperture, causes the first fuser assembly to be positioned at a first operative position, and the second datum tab that when inserted into the datum aperture, causes the second fuser assembly to be positioned at a second operative position.

A fixing apparatus includes a heater that is in contact with an inner surface of a film, a restricting member that restricts movement of the film in a longitudinal direction of the film, a connector that is connected electrically to the heater for supplying electric power to the heater, and a lock member that maintains a position of the restricting member and a position of the connector relative to each other.
